Super Earth needs you to take out hive planets across the galaxy. In Helldivers 2, following orders without hesitation is your job. One of the toughest missions is fighting against the infamous Hive Lords that hide beneath these planets. These enemies are not normal foes, and only the best Helldivers can defeat them.

Where to Find Hive Lords
Hive Lords are giant, worm-like creatures found on hive planets in the Terminid sector. These monsters are enormous and can cause massive damage to anything in their path. They create tunnels and complex cave systems under the planet’s surface. Slaying one is a must in these missions.
For a good chance to hunt these monsters, aim for higher difficulty levels. They usually appear around difficulty level 10, but sometimes can show up as early as level 7.
You’ll hear a creepy tunneling sound when a Hive Lord is near, and it won’t take long before it breaks through the ground, sending debris and sand flying everywhere. That’s when the fight begins, and you’ll need to start running.
How to Kill a Hive Lord
To bring down a Hive Lord, you need to bring heavy weapons. These beasts have about 150,000 health points, so it won’t be easy. The best weapons include Hellbombs, Railcannons, and Spears—use those to do the most damage.
It’s hard to miss the Hive Lord because it’s as big as a skyscraper. When it tunnels underground, watch out for the sand. If you get caught in its path while tunneling, it will send you flying.
To kill it, focus fire on its body and head with heavy ammo. Hellbombs can do a lot of damage quickly, but timing is tricky. Using 500kg bombs can also help weaken it significantly.
Warning: Watch out for the acid it spits out—it’s deadly and will kill you immediately.
The real challenge isn’t just damaging the creature; it’s staying alive. Avoid running straight toward or away from it. Instead, go to the sides to dodge its lunges and spray attacks.
Bringing down a Hive Lord is very tough, but it gets easier with a strong team working together. Before setting out to take one on, plan your attack carefully and bring plenty of stimulants.
