After completing the introductory tutorial in Marathon, you’ll quickly realize that making progress mainly depends on earning different contracts from various factions. Before you can access these factions, you need to finish an introductory contract for each one.
One of the first contracts you’ll encounter is Nucaloric. It can be a bit tricky because the locations aren’t marked clearly from a distance. In this contract, your first task is to find an infested building on the Perimeter map and then figure out how to get inside.
### Where to Find the Infested Building
The Nucaloric contract provides a hint that the infested building is located in the Columns area on the Perimeter map. Once you’ve loaded into the map, open your minimap and look for the Columns section on the southern side. You can mark this area to set a waypoint.
As you approach the Columns area, you’ll see a building just above the word “Columns” on the map. This building has a spider painted on one side, indicating it’s the infested building you’re searching for. Reaching this building completes half of the quest.
### How to Enter the Infested Building
To complete the quest, you need to find a way inside the infested building. Head to the back side of the building, near the cliff. You’ll notice a ladder leading to the roof. Climb up and look to your left to find a vent. Break the vent to drop into the building.
Once inside, you’ll see several tumors which continuously spawn bugs. It’s best to shoot these tumors quickly to prevent being overwhelmed. In the main room, look for a marker indicating the location of a keycard. Pick up the keycard and use it on the nearby terminal to finish the contract.
