The toxic zones in Grounded 2 are risky but also hold valuable resources. Moving through these areas can be challenging. When you find and gather a Stink Bug, you can use it to craft tools that make exploring dangerous places easier. However, Stink Bugs are not as common as most other bugs in Grounded 2.
They only appear in certain spots, such as near decayed food. Searching for them this way might feel unpredictable since there’s no guarantee a Stink Bug will be in these locations. To help you locate what you need, here are the best places to find Stink Bugs and tips on how to defeat them.
How to Find Stink Bugs
You might spot a few of these bugs near old, rotten food scattered around the world. Check these specific locations for better luck:
- East of the Ranger Outpost in Snackbar Front: Look at the pile of rocks on the border between Snackbar Front and Ceremony. You’ll likely find at least two walking there.
- South from Snackbar Front into Entrance: Find a large trash can in the southern part of the entrance. The Stink Bug will be southeast of the trash can, near some fallen bricks.
- North into the Picnic Table region: Head south from the region with the rope fence along its edge. Walking along the fence, you’ll see some Stink Bugs around that area.
- West into Ceremony (middle of the region): Search near a large amplifier positioned in the central part of Ceremony. The southwest corner of the amplifier is likely to have a few Stink Bugs wandering nearby.
To make traveling easier, craft a Red Soldier Ant Buggy first. It will help you move quickly and safely between areas.
How to Defeat a Stink Bug
Stink Bugs are much larger and cause more damage if you’re not prepared. They also release poisonous gas that can damage your health in an area-of-effect attack. The most effective way to fight them is using a ranged weapon like the old bow. This keeps you safe from their gas and melee attacks. Make sure to gather plenty of Thistle Needles to craft enough arrows.
Every shot counts—hold down the fire button to make each arrow hit harder for maximum damage. Keep a safe distance during the fight. Picking up arrows after each shot will help you avoid running out of ammunition.
Carry plenty of health restoratives like Granola Bars. These can completely heal your health and refill your hunger meter. Alternating between healing and staying out of reach while firing arrows will give you a better chance of victory.
What Stink Bugs Drop
When you defeat a Stink Bug, you’ll often get either a Stink Bug Part or a Gas Sack. Sometimes you’ll receive both. Collecting these allows you to start crafting a gas mask, which will significantly reduce the impact of the poison gas attacks in future encounters.
