In Tiny Bookshop, it’s not just customers who might come into your life—sometimes, it’s a dog in need. You may notice a scruffy stray dog hanging around, seemingly waiting for someone to notice. Gaining the trust of this local dog isn’t just about petting him; you’ll need to build a connection and time your actions just right.
This guide will help you through each step of the “Feed the Stray” quest, from spotting the dog for the first time to giving him a permanent home in your small shop. Think of it as the perfect recipe for making a canine friend.
### How To Find The Dog
To start the “Feed the Stray” quest in Tiny Bookshop, first, set up your shop at the Waterfront location. Once you’re settled, direct your attention all the way to the far right side of the screen. There, you’ll see the stray dog lingering near the edge of the area. Talk to the dog to begin your first interaction.
At this point, you can’t feed or adopt him yet; it’s just about getting to know him. This sets the stage for what’s to come.
### How To Feed The Dog
Building a relationship with the local fisherman at the Waterfront is key to feeding the dog. This takes multiple in-game days, so visit him often and speak with him regularly. Each conversation helps you progress toward unlocking a special quest.
When you’ve talked to him enough, he’ll give you a task to complete. Finish this task by selling books to the fishermen, which will unlock the recurring Fish Market event at the Waterfront.
Keep an eye on your journal or newspaper to see when the Fish Market is scheduled. It only happens after you’ve completed your first month in the game.
When the fish market is open, buy a fish from the fisherman. Keep the fish in your inventory, then go back to the stray dog and interact with him. Now, you’ll be able to feed him.
### How To Adopt The Dog
After feeding the dog, a prompt will ask if you want to adopt him. Select “Yes,” and the dog will be added to your inventory. From there, navigate to the decor options and place your new pet inside or outside your shop.
Whenever you put him down, he’ll be there to greet you each time you open your shop, ready for some interaction and companionship.
