Hopping on your skateboard and heading into the city in Skate means showing off your best tricks to unlock new gear. Unlike most games where leveling up can take a long time, Skate keeps things engaging. While it’s not exactly a grind (pun intended), you will need to spend some time exploring San Vansterdam.
Here’s a simple guide to help you earn more experience and make the most of your time in the city. This will help you build your skills and earn plenty of rip chips along the way.
How to Gain Experience
The main way to earn experience in Skate is by completing challenges around the island. Since there are only a few permanent missions, it’s smart to focus on the daily timed challenges first. These reset every day, giving you more chances to earn rip chips and experience points quickly.
Each neighborhood tracks your reputation separately, which is shown on your profile. Reaching the highest level in one area doesn’t carry over to others, but it does unlock access to them. The best way to level up fast is simply to skateboard and complete challenges across the city.
Pro tip: Use bus stops as quick travel points to move faster between missions and challenges!
Besides grinding challenges for experience, you can team up with other skaters, whether friends or top players who’ve already hit level ten. You can work together to complete challenges, and in these groups, only one person needs to finish an objective for everyone to benefit.
Early in the game, focus on completing the tour missions around San Vansterdam. These give a lot of experience and rip chips, and they also help you get familiar with the controls and the layout of different neighborhoods.
Finally, save your rip chips to buy gear and stickers in neighborhoods where you’re trying to level up. Spend them wisely in areas you’re planning to grind in first. This strategy helps you make the most of your earnings during the early hours of gameplay, making it easier to unlock the entire map.
