Getting resources in Slime Rancher 2 can be tricky, especially when you’re just starting out. Until you learn the game, you might find yourself dropping items you’ll wish you’d kept, accidentally shooting out slimes you’ve caught, or quickly snatching plorts from largos to prevent tarr monsters from spreading.
One essential resource for upgrades is a Strange Diamond. Collecting enough of them takes time, especially if you don’t know where to look. Here’s what you need to know to find and gather these valuable gems and build a steady supply.
### Where to Find Strange Diamonds
Strange Diamonds are used in many crafting recipes, like building teleporters that make traveling across the map much easier. Unfortunately, these diamonds are very rare. Finding them requires a bit of luck and a careful eye.
The best place to look for Strange Diamonds is inside caves across the Rainbow Islands. In particular, you can find several nodes on the walls of the caverns in Starlight Strand. You’ll need to use the Resource Harvester upgrade to extract the diamonds from the walls. Each node yields about one to three diamonds.
To spot these nodes more easily in dark areas, look for a shiny glint or shine on the walls. If you have a jetpack, use it to jump around and get a better view of the caverns so you don’t miss any hidden nodes. Be sure to check both high and low spots in the caves, as the rare nodes can be hidden in hard-to-see places.
Some players have found Strange Diamond nodes in the cave behind the Honey Slime Gordo in Starlight Strand. Exploring different caves with various plorts can increase your chances of finding these rare resources. Keep searching carefully—every diamond counts.
