Ninja Gaiden 4 doesn’t have as many weapons as Ninja Gaiden 2, but all five weapons used by Yakumo are more detailed and have more depth.
Much of this depth comes from upgrades you can buy for each weapon. These upgrades can get pretty costly, making it a slow process to unlock everything. However, there is an easier way to do it.
### How to Farm Weapon XP Easily
As you defeat enemies in Ninja Gaiden 4, you’ll earn a currency called Weapon XP. This XP can be used to upgrade your weapons by purchasing new moves and abilities. Each weapon has several upgrades to unlock, and the later ones can be quite expensive, especially when spread across all five weapons.
There’s a trophy for fully upgrading each of Yakumo’s weapons, so completing this is definitely worth it for completionists.
By the time I finished the game, I had only fully upgraded one weapon and almost unlocked all the skills for a second one, leaving many upgrades still available. Instead of replaying chapters repeatedly to grind XP, once you’ve finished the game, there’s an easier way.
### How to Maximize Upgrades with Accessories
After beating Ninja Gaiden 4, Umi’s shop updates with new special items and accessories. One such item is the Enlightenment Omamori, which costs 8,000 NinjaCoin. This accessory automatically converts any NinjaCoin you earn from defeating enemies into Weapon XP, making upgrades much faster.
In contrast, NinjaCoin is used less often for upgrades and is usually easier to earn. So, buying and equipping the Enlightenment Omamori helps speed up weapon upgrades when you’re trying to fully upgrade your arsenal.
On the other hand, there’s also an Enrichment Omamori, which does the opposite by converting Weapon XP into NinjaCoin. If you’re short on money, equipping this item can help you gather more NinjaCoin quickly.
