After playing Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 for a while, you’ll quickly see that the game mainly focuses on using your abilities during combat to stay ahead of enemies. As you progress, groups of enemies will get bigger, and it’s harder to defeat them with just melee fighting.
When you pick a clan at the start, you can unlock all their skills by spending ability points. But if you want to unlock abilities from other clans, you’ll need to earn Sanguine, Choleric, and Melancholic points through Blood Resonance Events.
How To Find Blood Resonance Events
Blood Resonance Events are special, random-spawning events in the game’s open world. Participating in these events can earn you up to 100 points of Sanguine, Choleric, and Melancholic based on the human you engage with. The first step is to find these special humans.
There are two main ways to identify them. The easiest is to look at your map for icons that match the blood types shown on the key in the bottom left corner. If you see a matching symbol, go there to find a human who can give you the points.
Important: You need to feed on a human for a while during these events, so it’s best to do it in a quiet, hidden place to avoid drawing attention.
The second way is by staying in sight while walking around Seattle. Most humans will have white hearts, police officers’ hearts are yellow, and sometimes you’ll see hearts in red, purple, or pink. Talking to humans with these colored hearts can trigger an emotion within them, which starts the resonance event.
How To Get Resonance Blood
To gather resonance blood, you need to interact differently with humans depending on how you find them. When you’re close, you’ll see a message indicating you can talk to nearly everyone, but only some will have a chance to trigger blood resonance.
- If you find them through the map icon, they’re already prepared for the event, and you can just feed on them.
- If you only see their beating heart and no icon, you first need to talk to them and evoke an emotion.
When you successfully invoke an emotion, the human might follow you or run away. It’s a good idea to bring them to a private, secluded space to feed, even if they’re ready for it, since it helps you avoid revealing your vampire nature to bystanders.
Tip: If talking to a person with a colored heart but no icon doesn’t work, their heart will turn back to white, and you’ll need to try again later.
If you find someone ready to feed but fail the conversation, you can use your telekinesis to scare them away without raising too much suspicion or damaging your reputation.
