The Wandering Ark is a special world boss in Where Winds Meet, and it’s unlike any other boss you’ve faced before. It’s situated deep inside the sandstorms at the Jade Gate Pass area of Hexi. When you get close, you’ll see a huge flying ship that begins attacking you.
Because of its size, fighting the Wandering Ark is different from other bosses. Below, you’ll learn how to find this boss and how to defeat it.
### Wandering Ark Location
The Wandering Ark is in the northwest part of the Jade Gate Pass in Hexi, hidden by a fierce sandstorm. When you approach, your map won’t work, so don’t rely on it. Instead, follow the sound of camel bells in the area. Listen for the bells; when you hear one, move toward it and keep following the sounds. Keep heading in the direction of the bells, and eventually, you’ll find your way out of the storm and spot the Wandering Ark in the distance.
### How to Fight the Wandering Ark
As you draw near, the Ark begins firing volleys of arrows that can’t be blocked. Dodge and sprint to avoid the arrows while closing the distance. After three volleys, you’ll get close enough for the Ark to lift itself up, revealing four glowing Moonlight Withered Branches on its feet. These are the boss’s weak points. Each one you break halves the boss’s health instantaneously.
While attacking these weak points, the Ark will try to trample you with stomps or belly flops, which deal heavy damage. Avoid these attacks carefully. You can parry its stomps, but note that parrying doesn’t deal Qi damage; dodging is the safer choice.
Once all four weak points are destroyed, the fight moves into its second phase.
### Phase 2
In this stage, the Ark uses a different set of attacks. It will drain its Qi and dash forward, dealing damage. A hint may appear telling you to shoot a Moon Lantern to harm it, but this is not recommended. The chance to aim is very small, and you risk getting trampled.
The Ark often swings its tree arm, which can cause thorns to appear on the ground or it might shoot white projectiles at you. Stay a safe distance to avoid these attacks.
### Moonfall Attack
Periodically, the Ark will use Moonfall. It charges up briefly and then launches a large moon-shaped projectile that causes massive damage. Watch the ground for the area-of-effect indicator, and sprint out of the danger zone. Once the projectile hits, immediately run back and use the reverse ability to bounce the moon back to the boss. When the moon strikes the Ark, it will fall from the sky, take significant damage, and loosen its weak point.
Quickly run toward the boss again and hit the weak point to deliver extra damage. Keeping up with avoiding Moonfall and bouncing it back is key to defeating the Ark. The other attacks are manageable with practice, so focus on timing your dodges and the counterattack with the moon.
By repeating this process—avoiding attacks, bouncing back the moon, and hitting the weak points—you’ll bring down the Wandering Ark within a few rotations.
