How to Unlock the Lord Amidst the Ruins Quest Chain
Before hunting the Staglord, it’s best to be at least in chapter four, since one of the quest prerequisites involves clearing a difficult Quarry area.
Once ready, ensure you’ve completed these steps to unlock access to the Staglord segment in the House Serkis story:
-
Start the House Serkis questline by helping a man near a ruined house behind Anvil Hill.
- From the hilltop, go to the back of the fort on the southwest side and follow the rocky path down. Near the bottom, you’ll find a house with a man needing help. Assist him to begin this questline.
-
Finish the House Roberts questline and defeat the Crimson Nightmare Boss.
-
Complete the initial bounty by tracking down a pickpocket named Jeffrey, who can be found near the jail area in Hernand.
- Talk to the guards near the Wanted Poster to start this bounty.
After completing these quests, you’ll unlock the Broken Trail sub-quest, which is the first step in the House Serkis quest chain leading to the Staglord.
How to Defeat the Staglord
Progressing the questline by completing the prerequisites makes you eligible to face the Staglord. Once you do, you’ll be tasked with defeating Saigord, the Staglord, in the next mission.
- Make sure your stamina is high; staying mobile is key during the fight.
- Consider outfitting yourself with the Darkbringer Sword, which is excellent for this battle, along with the Frostcursed Armor Set for good protection.
Boss Fight Tips:
- The fight has two phases, starting after you deplete his first two health bars.
- In the initial phase, the Staglord will attack with multi-hit combos. Watch his attack cues and avoid starting your attacks until he’s finished swinging, or be ready to parry to avoid damage.
- Use mobility to your advantage, employing jumps and Force Palm techniques to stay airborne and evade his strikes.
- Heavy attacks are highly effective—aim for his back when possible to stagger him and deal significant damage.
When the boss transitions to the second phase after a cutscene, prepare to react quickly:
- Parry incoming attacks to land massive counterattacks.
- Use dodges to evade multi-hit combos, especially since he likes to string together powerful attacks.
During phase two:
- Stay alert for his multi-hit combo strings.
- Maintain movement, bait his attacks, and dodge accordingly.
- Focus on heavy hits when opportunities arise, especially at his back to deal quick damage and stagger him.

- Abyss Artifact
- Staglord’s Shield — a unique shield with:
