The Snake Doctor is a World Boss in Where Winds Meet that uses a mix of melee and ranged attacks to control the flow of the fight. He can apply poison with several of his moves, making him one of the tougher bosses in the game—unless you’re well-prepared.
This boss challenges your physical skills more than others in the game. You’ll need to practice dodging and parrying if you want to succeed. If you need some helpful tips, you’re in the right place.
Snake Doctor Location
The Snake Doctor can be found inside a cave beneath the Encircling Lake area in southern Qinghe. To reach him, go to the Encircling Lake Boundary Stone, then travel northwest along the trail until you come across a bandit camp. From there, head to the right to find a cave entrance; go down into the cave to find the Snake Doctor waiting.
Snake Doctor Fight Walkthrough
The Snake Doctor’s attack patterns are fairly simple, but his attacks can be tricky because of fake-outs and misleading wind-ups. Several moves can also poison you, causing damage over time. Bringing the Panacea Fan will help keep you healthy during the fight.
His main attacks involve his staff. Expect large overhead swings that deal a lot of damage but are easy to spot, as well as quick horizontal strikes thrown in rapid succession. Be especially cautious of a double horizontal sweep attack, which can be avoided either by dodging diagonally to the side and behind him or by parrying it directly.
The boss will occasionally throw poison smoke bombs, creating clouds of poison in the area. If you’re in melee range, these clouds usually explode behind you, so avoiding them is simple once you recognize the pattern. The Snake Doctor will also sometimes dodge backward and throw poison darts. If you’re close, these rarely hit you, but ranged fighters may find it harder to avoid this attack. Using the Panacea Fan or Soulshade Umbrella for healing can help offset some of this difficulty.
One of his most dangerous moves is a wide arc where he tosses three snakes that deal high damage and poison. Watch his animation carefully and dodge just as the snakes are released to avoid being hit.
Overall, this fight tests your reflexes and timing for parrying. The boss doesn’t have many mechanics beyond basic attack patterns, so practicing with assist mode turned on can help you learn his timing. Once you’re comfortable, turn it off—especially if you’re tackling the tougher Trial version of the boss.
