As you progress through the main story of The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, most parts are pretty clear. You’ll see markers pointing you where to go and hints on what to do. However, near the end of the second act, you’ll face the Albion Mutant boss fight, which is more challenging and less straightforward.
This fight has multiple stages, and you need to do specific actions unlike earlier battles, where spamming skills and basic attacks was enough to win. Here’s what you should do to prepare and how to defeat the boss easily.
How to Prepare for the Albion Mutant
The difficulty ramps up significantly when facing the Albion Mutant. It’s best to get ready before the fight. You’ll know it’s coming when a giant Albion causes chaos in the fairy forest as you glide down toward it.
First, check your characters. It’s recommended to have at least two characters at their first mastery level. Max out their weapons and equip the best gear you have. These characters will carry you through the fight.
Tip: Tristan is a good choice here because he gets an engraved armor during the story.
Next, review your inventory. Make sure to have healing potions readily accessible in your hot bar. If you don’t have any, craft at least ten before starting the fight. Once you’re prepared with your characters and supplies, you’re ready to face the Albion Mutant.
Albion Mutant First Phase Guide
Once the cutscene begins, the Albion Mutant will transform into a giant. Your first goal is to get close to its legs without getting hit. Watch out for circles of projectiles that it throws on the ground as you approach.
When near its legs, the mutant will stomp the ground repeatedly. Dash carefully at the right moments to dodge these stomps. Attack its legs to build up a bar on the right side of its health bar. When this bar fills up, the Albion will fall to the ground. At this point, climb onto its chest to target the orb.
Pro Tip: Using your skills together will fill the stun circle faster, allowing you to stun the boss more quickly.
Climb onto the Albion’s body from the right leg — it’s easier there than from the left. Attack the orb enough times to reduce the boss’s health to about 40%. This will trigger the second phase, which plays out a little differently.
Albion Mutant Second Phase Guide
At 40% health, the mutant grows even larger, and the fight shifts. During this phase, you can’t get close to the boss anymore, as it will push you away. Instead, focus on the flower turrets that spawn around the field.
The king will distract the mutant, giving you a chance to jump into a turret in the direction the boss is facing. Inside the turret, shoot at the boss’s core, which builds up a stun meter. Watch its attacks carefully and dodge as needed.
Once the stun bar is fully charged, you can go back to attacking the mutant’s legs and climb up to strike the core again, ultimately bringing the fight to a close. Keep in mind that timing your skill use to build stun faster can make a big difference.
