Starting in the vibrant world of Palia involves exploring new cultures and adapting to your surroundings. Connecting with villagers unlocks new career options, rewards, and activities that help you gather resources.
The ranching update introduces fresh ways to spend your time, such as caring for your favorite animals and collecting products from them. It requires some patience and practice, but the results are rewarding. Here’s how to start building strong bonds with your animals, whether they’re small Pekis or large Ormuus.
Where to Find the Ranch
To access the ranch, Delilah will visit your house and share news about her latest project. She’ll give you access to the Barn Bell, which you can place on your property. Interacting with the bell lets you travel to the ranch, where barns and coops await. Use the stalls there to keep animals and collect their products.
Note: Although the ranch is part of your property, you can’t decorate that area. It functions like a rented space from Delilah.
How to Care for Animals
Animals need love and attention to thrive. Regularly checking on them and giving pets and snacks throughout the day helps keep their focus and attention meters up, leading to faster production of goods. To interact, approach an animal and use the menu to pet them or feed them from a bowl. Animals will eat crops like corn, tomatoes, and various treats.
Tip: If an animal is not in its stall, check other areas since they tend to wander at times.
All Animals and How to Get Them
There are currently four types of animals available, each with different costs and personalities. As your ranching level increases, more animals become available to raise and gather resources from.
Animal | Product | Care | Cost |
---|---|---|---|
Peki | Eggs | Focus: Low, Attention: Moderate | 1,000 gold |
Trufflet | Mushrooms | Focus: Medium, Attention: Moderate | 1,500 gold |
Ormuu | Milk | Focus: High, Attention: High | 2,500 gold |
Bumbles | Honey | Focus: Low, Attention: Low | 1,200 gold |
Breeding Animals
Animals can be bred at a nursery near the main barn. You need two of the same animal to breed them, and each pair can only breed once before a cooldown starts. Breeding is the best way to get new variants for free and to pass traits from parents to babies. Baby animals stay at the nursery until they mature, as it’s safer. Make sure they have enough attention and food, though they won’t produce any goods until they’re adults.
Extra: If you don’t have two animals to breed, you can adopt new ones at the Ranch Store for a small fee.

How to Breed Animals
To breed, visit the nursery near the barn. You need two animals of the same type, which can only breed once before a cooldown. Breeding allows you to pass traits and get new animal variants without cost. Baby animals will stay in the nursery until they grow up. Make sure they have enough attention and food to stay healthy.
Tip: If you lack two animals, you can adopt new ones from the Ranch Store for a small fee.
What to Do With Venerated Animals
When animals are no longer suited for production, you can rehome them, saying goodbye forever and receiving a treat bag that helps raise new animals. For special animals you love, feeding them a Divine Doughnut obtained from a Legendary Treat Pack will reincarnate them as a baby with all their traits intact, giving them a second chance at life.
Note: Keeping too many animals can slow down overall production, so managing your herd is beneficial.
