How To Completing The Piano Puzzle In Dead Take

Once you’ve restored the projector in the basement theater of the Cain Estate in Dead Take, you’ll find yourself with more questions than before. After watching the film from the director’s seat, you’ll receive a spooky diorama and a key as a reward for your efforts.

Reach into the creepy scene outside in the main foyer to grab the key. This key will open the next puzzle needed to move forward and uncover what really happened last night at the estate.

### Gain Access To The Shield Bedroom
The Shield Bedroom is located upstairs on the first floor. Use the key from the diorama to unlock the door, which will emit sounds of crying once opened. Inside, you’ll notice a colorful jack-in-the-box on the bed and a closet to the right. The closet contains a locked safe with a PIN pad—keep that in mind for later. Play with the jack-in-the-box until it bursts open to reveal a torn piece of sheet music hidden in a cassette case at its base.

### Find The Sheet Music
Head upstairs via the staircases on either side of the hall—either way leads to the second floor overlooking the foyer. The sheet music is hidden behind the toy, so be sure to open the cassette case and take the torn sheet.

### Play The Correct Notes
Return to the piano in the room. Open its case and match the symbols etched into the music stand to the uncovered symbols on the sheet music. The symbols are: an eyeball with two dots, an upward arrow, a humanoid figure, the same eyeball, and a swirl. Play the piano keys that correspond to these symbols in order to unlock the cassette tape hidden inside.

### Retrieve The Cassette Tape
Go up the staircase and locate the piano once more. When you place the sheet music and play the right notes, a compartment in the piano will open, revealing the missing cassette tape. When you return to the Shield Bedroom, insert the tape into the cassette player and hit play. An unsettling lullaby will play, and after the lights flicker, check the baby monitor nearby. It will reveal the code 2429.

### Open The Safe
Return to the closet, input the code 2429 on the safe’s PIN pad, and press the green button to unlock it. Inside, you’ll find the Courtyard Key and an additional media file flash drive.

### Final Step
Use the Courtyard Key to access the courtyard area upstairs, and continue your investigation into what truly transpired at the Cain Estate.
