Many characters in Pokémon Legends: Z-A are charming and memorable, making them hard to dislike and even harder to forget. Jacinthe is definitely unforgettable. With her Le Super-Tournoi de Jacinthe O tournament, you might think it’s finally time to put her entitled ambitions to rest and teach her some humility along the way.
While it’s somewhat satisfying to repeatedly beat Jacinthe’s team, it’s been ten days since we started, and we still haven’t left the hotel. If you’re brave enough to face this pink, psychopathic rival, be aware that—win or lose—you might never escape the hotel again.
How to Beat Jacinthe’s Final Tournament: “Le Super-Tournoi de Jacinthe O”
Once you complete 20 Reward Matches, a side mission will pop up at Hotel Richissime. You can find Lebanne waiting at the hotel doors, having expected you there—creepy. Follow her instructions by going inside and meeting Jacinthe on the top floor. She’ll introduce her new tournament: “Le Super-Tournoi de Jacinthe O” — where the “O” stands for “Only,” and it reflects her sense of entitlement.
Note: This side mission isn’t announced; the only sign it’s available is a “!” over Hotel Richissime.
The goal is to beat Jacinthe four times in a row without stopping to relax. She isn’t as tough as L was, but she’s a formidable opponent, so you need to be prepared. Her team consists of six Pokémon with a focus on Fairy types. Here are the details:
| Pokémon | Level | Type | Moves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Carbink | 73 | Fairy / Rock | Stealth Rock, Flash Cannon, Stone Edge, Moon Blast |
| Mawile | 74 | Fairy / Steel | Play Rough, Crunch, Iron Head, Fire Fang |
| Aurorus | 74 | Rock / Ice | Protect, Rock Blast, Blizzard, Freeze Dry |
| Gardevoir | 74 | Fairy / Psychic | Calm Mind, Mystical Fire, Moonblast, Psychic |
| Sylveon | 74 | Fairy | Moon Blast, Fake Tears, Dazzling Gleam, Shadow Ball |
| Mega Clefable | 75 | Fairy / Flying | Protect, Mystical Fire, Moonblast, Air Slash |
Important: All of Jacinthe’s Pokémon may use Plus Moves instead of standard attacks when they can.
Tips to Win
The main strategies to keep in mind are:
- You will always start your battles against Jacinthe with the Pokémon you used last time.
- Don’t waste time healing during a fight unless it’s desperate; Jacinthe will heal her Pokémon at the end of each round, so it’s best to hold off.
Focus on using super-effective moves. While Jacinthe’s team has some coverage, Pokémon with Steel-type moves, especially ones resistant to her Fire counters, will have the best chance. Steel-wing Talonflame or Iron Tail Charizard can sweep her team, especially if Aurorus’s Rock Blast is ineffective due to being one-shotted by Stealth Rock or Carbink’s Stone Edge.
Battle Mechanics
Always keep in mind that Jacinthe will lead with the Pokémon you last battled her with. Also, she will heal her Pokémon after each round, so avoid unnecessary healing mid-fight unless you’re close to fainting. Aim for moves that are super effective, especially those with Steel-types, to maximize damage. Resistance to her Fire moves will make your Pokémon more durable.
If you manage to beat Jacinthe in this tournament, the rewards include:
- 30 Luxury Balls
- 300,000 Poké Dollars
- The ability to re-challenge Jacinthe endlessly
This re-challenge isn’t a single fight but an infinite loop called “Le Super-Tournoi de Jacinthe Infinite,” where you continually face her until you can’t go any further. Your goal becomes to rack up as many wins as possible. Whether that sounds fun is up to Jacinthe—she might think so.
