The Call of Duty brand is heavily influenced by cheesy action movies, and Black Ops 6 pays homage to one of the best periods in that genre with the new event, ’90s Action Heroes. This event features various rewards inspired by the look and style of late 20th-century movies.
While Black Ops 6 has previously included crossovers specific to its franchise, ’90s Action Heroes is broader, using series operators as the inspiration for the cosmetics. Here’s what you need to know before jumping into this event.
How Does the ’90s Action Heroes Event Work?
The event runs from August 21 to September 4, 2025. Like most of Black Ops 6’s simple events, your main goal is to earn experience points (XP).
Reaching certain XP levels unlocks a variety of rewards, including profile cosmetics. The highlights of these rewards are a new Zombies field upgrade and a melee weapon called boxing gloves.
The best way to earn XP is to play well. Winning matches and completing objectives will give you additional XP, and performing feats like double kills or capturing points helps too. Playing game modes where you can easily focus on objectives (such as TDM, Domination, or Hardpoint) allows you to earn XP more efficiently.
You can speed up your progress by using profile XP boosters available in multiplayer lobbies. These boosters are often free in the in-game store, and you might already have some from battle passes or previous challenges.
All ’90s Action Heroes Event Rewards
The event offers a total of 13 rewards to collect, plus an extra blueprint for the boxing gloves if you have access to the Blackcell pass. Here’s a list of the rewards:

Note: The boxing gloves have unique stats, trading damage for a higher speed, which makes sense for their real-life use. If you don’t get the Blackcell pass, you won’t miss much since the exclusive blueprint is just a color change.
