There are many quests in Stardew Valley, some with several steps that can be tricky, but others are quite simple. The quest to find Robin’s lost axe is one of the easy ones.
Your only goal is to bring Robin back her missing axe. We don’t ask how she lost such a big tool—just focus on the task. Here’s a quick guide on how to find her axe, how to start the quest, where to find it, and what you get for completing it.
Updated March 14, 2026 by Allyson Cochran: We’ve added a video showing the exact location of the axe and some info on how this quest works in multiplayer.
How to Start Robin’s Lost Axe Quest
Like many quests in Stardew Valley, Robin will contact you directly. You’ll receive mail from her on the 11th day of Spring, asking you to find her lost axe. She mentions that she last used it south of Marnie’s ranch. Accepting the quest is easy—no extra steps needed, as it comes directly to your mailbox. Plus, there’s no time limit, so you can take your time. Just keep in mind that Robin is waiting for you.
Note: In multiplayer, each player must find and return their own axe. If one completes the quest, it doesn’t automatically finish for everyone else.
Where Is Robin’s Axe?
The axe is in Cindersnap Forest, south of Marnie’s ranch. The forest is pretty big, so here’s how to find it:
- Start at Marnie’s ranch and go south until you reach the river.
- Cross the small bridge over the water.
- Cross another bridge onto the small island.
- Follow the path until you cross the next bridge, heading across the river.
- Head south and then east along the cliff’s edge.
- The axe will be in the southeastern part of the forest, just east of the spring onion patch.
The route isn’t hard, but if you’re new to the area, it’s easy to get turned around. Once you learn the way, it’s quick to navigate next time.
How to Complete the Quest
After finding the axe, head back to Robin. If you found it on the same day she asked, just go to her house and return the axe. If you waited a bit, make sure you know where Robin is—on Tuesdays, she visits Pierre’s General Store; otherwise, she’s usually at home.
Rewards for Completing the Quest
Turning in Robin’s axe earns you one friendship heart and 250g. Improving friendship is good, especially early on. Completing this quest before reaching max friendship with Robin helps build your relationship early. If you already have maximum friendship, this extra heart won’t add much.
That’s it—Robins’s lost axe is a simple quest that helps boost your friendships and earn some money early in the game. Keep completing tasks, finishing the Community Center, and exploring Ginger Island!
