How To Complete Hatching-Tide for All Eyeglasses in FFXIV

The Hatching-Tide event is back in Final Fantasy 14, marking a fun seasonal celebration. This year, players who love to customize their characters can look forward to a new selection of eyewear items, perfect for matching with their favorite Warrior of Light outfits. There are also new decorative furnishings available during this event.

The event runs from today until April 6, 2026, at 7:59 a.m. PDT / 2:59 p.m. GMT. After this date, you won’t be able to complete the seasonal quests or earn the associated rewards, so be sure to finish everything before the deadline. Here’s what you need to know about the event and all the rewards you can collect.

Of Weeds And Whimsy Seasonal Quest Walkthrough

To start this year’s seasonal quest, talk to the Stylish Dreamer located at (X:10.2, Y:9.4) in Old Gridania, at Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre. You need to be at least level 15 to take on this quest. After a short cutscene, head back to the Aetheryte Plaza in New Gridania and speak with Nonotta at (X:11.7, Y:12.3). Then, go to the nearby Carline Canopy on the New Gridania map and speak with the following NPCs:

Levemete Assistant at (X:11.7, Y:13.3)
Soft-spoken Server at (X:11.7, Y:13.6)
Breezy Adventurer at (X:11.9, Y:13.7)

Return to Nonotta and then visit a Bespectacled Elezen at (X:10.4, Y:6.5) in Old Gridania. Next, go to (X:13.7, Y:9.3) and talk with Herberin. Afterward, return to Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre and speak with Nonotta again at (X:10.1, Y:9.0) to unlock the seasonal instance “Sprig Cleaning”.

To complete the quest, you need to clear four stages of Sprig Cleaning. Once finished, talk to Nonotta again, then visit Johlia Aliapoh at (X:10.2, Y:9.4) to finish the quest. Completing this grants you the Party Eggy Glasses, the “Faces We Wear – Party Eggy Glasses” achievement, and the “Springtime Delights” recognition.

How To Do Sprig Cleaning

Speak with the Egg Usher located at (X:10.1, Y:9.0) in Old Gridania to begin Sprig Cleaning. This is a solo duty with a timer of three minutes. During the activity, you use special actions to trim weeds and attain the highest possible score. Your score increases with each leafkin you remove and by collecting hidden gold, silver, and bronze Archon eggs among the traps.

You will also encounter Unusual Leafkin. Removing these grants buffs, such as increasing your cleaning gauge, improving the chances of finding eggs, or ensuring all eggs discovered are gold.

How To Earn All Hatching-Tide Eyeglasses and Rewards

By completing the seasonal quest, you’ll automatically receive the Party Eggy Glasses and The Faces We Wear – Party Eggy Glasses. However, to earn additional eyeglasses and seasonal rewards, you’ll need to participate frequently in Sprig Cleaning to gather enough Special Brilliant Eggs. These eggs can be exchanged for various items.

Meet with the Dreamer at (X:10.2, Y:9.1) in Old Gridania to browse and purchase wares. Rewards are purchased using Special Brilliant Eggs and include items such as Painted Eggy Eyeglasses, Slim Frame Eggy Eyeglasses, Spriggan Eyeglasses, Blooming Eyeglasses, and their versions in The Faces We Wear series. Many furnishings are available as well, including scattered and filled Archon Egg Baskets, Hatching-tide advertisements, and a Magicked Prism.

Difference Between The Faces We Wear and Normal Eyeglasses

The Faces We Wear eyeglasses are a type of Facewear, not headgear. You need to unlock them before use. After unlocking, you can equip them through the Facewear slot, allowing you to wear glasses even if you have a headgear piece on. You also have options to choose different colors for your Facewear.

Normal eyeglasses, on the other hand, are traditional headgear items that occupy a gear slot and must be dyed if you want different colors. This setup offers flexibility to match your look exactly as you want.
