When you start playing Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, you’ll be able to race in six main grand prix circuits right away. However, there are additional tracks you can unlock by progressing through the game or by downloading DLC. These extra circuits are listed directly in the grand prix menu: the Egg Grand Prix and the Secret Grand Prix.
Unlocking these hidden grand prix is challenging. You’ll need to be confident in your racing skills because to unlock the Egg and Secret Grand Prix, you must win all the races in the current tracks. You’ve got to win each one to add them to your collection.
First, focus on unlocking the Egg Grand Prix. When you begin, you’ll see six default grand prix, each with three tracks. The final race in each series is a special mashup that combines all three tracks, with each lap on a different one. To unlock the Egg Grand Prix—needed to access the Secret Grand Prix—you just need to race on each of these six grand prix at least once. It doesn’t matter how well you do; just completing them will unlock the Egg Grand Prix.
All the grand prix you’ve raced will be marked on the selection screen. Once you’ve played all six, the Egg Grand Prix becomes available. Don’t worry about your scores—your goal is simply to race on each track to unlock it. Your performance doesn’t matter unless you’re racing against rivals or trying to beat a specific time.
Next, to unlock the Secret Grand Prix, you must win first place in all the grand prix, including the newly-unlocked Egg Grand Prix. This means you need to finish first overall in every race. Finishing position in individual races overall doesn’t count until all four races in a grand prix are finished and points are tallied. It helps to retry races if you’re not doing well; you can spend Donpa Tickets to try again without penalty. Achieving first overall will unlock the final challenge, called the XX Challenge, which tracks your progress toward the Secret Grand Prix.
You’ll see all the grand prix you’ve won marked with a gold trophy icon in the bottom-left corner of their icons. Once you complete the last race and unlock the XX Challenge, you’ll know you’ve finished the last step. The toughest tracks—such as Kronos Island, Northstar Islands, and White Space—are available in this final grand prix. To succeed, it’s important to use each vehicle type skillfully and have your Gadget Plate settings optimized before starting the race.
