Wuchang: Fallen Feathers delivers an intense, challenging, and satisfying soulslike experience from start to finish. It includes all the classic features such as tough boss battles, interconnected locations, and more, making it feel very much like the original Dark Souls.
There are four different endings, encouraging players to revisit the game in New Game Plus to discover everything they missed in a first playthrough. Each ending requires completing very different tasks, so players will need to be prepared for their journey through the game’s world and encounters if they want to see all the outcomes.
Note: Spoilers will follow regarding how to unlock all four endings. Though efforts are made to keep spoilers minimal, some key events are unavoidable, so proceed with caution.
Dream’s Sweet Deceit Ending
This is considered the most “authentic” ending in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and demands the most effort to unlock. It involves completing multiple NPC quests, fighting a hidden boss, forging a special ring, and more. It’s recommended to aim for this during a New Game Plus run when you’re stronger and more familiar with the game. This ending is the “True Ending,” so pursuing it gives the best outcome, including facing one of the toughest bosses, so come prepared or try it after leveling up in New Game Plus.
To unlock Dream’s Sweet Deceit, you’ll need to follow a series of steps: complete certain NPC quests, forge a unique ring, avoid consuming any Rings of Samsara, and defeat the final boss.
Bound By Fate’s Threads Ending
The second-best ending, this one is easier to achieve. You must avoid doing two specific things before fighting the final boss: do not complete certain quests and refuse help from the Storyteller when prompted. This ending cuts your game short, ending during the third chapter after defeating Bo Magus. While not the “True Ending,” it’s a solid choice, especially if you want to finish quickly or missed more complex requirements the first time around.
To get this ending: complete the questline with the Red-Clad Lady, refuse to help the Storyteller at the Annalum Shrine, and defeat Bo Magus.
Successor Of The Bo Ending
This ending shortens your playthrough significantly, ending after defeating Bo Magus in the third chapter. To unlock it, you need to complete a specific questline and refuse to assist the Storyteller before facing Bo Magus. It’s considered a neutral or “bad” ending, as it positions you as the successor to Bo Magus rather than the hero.
To unlock: finish Red-Clad Lady’s quest, refuse help from the Storyteller at the Annalum Shrine, and defeat Bo Magus.
Jarful Of Medicine Ending
Known as the game’s bad ending, this is by far the easiest to unlock. The requirements are simple, making it a good choice for a third playthrough after obtaining the other endings. While considered negative, it reveals interesting plot elements and twists, making it worth exploring even without the full trophy hunt.
To unlock: do not complete certain quests or follow specific story choices that involve helping key NPCs, leading to choosing this ending naturally during the final stages. It’s often viewed as a straightforward route to explore the darker side of the story.
Each ending involves specific steps and choices, and players should be mindful of not consuming certain items, like Rings of Samsara, as this can prevent unlocking some endings. Guides for NPC questlines are in progress to help players navigate their way smoothly through all possible outcomes.
