If you’ve explored around the map of Crimson Desert, you might have already come across some sanctums. At first, you can’t do much with these structures, but once you meet the Witch of Wisdom, she will ask you to activate them.
Activating each sanctum involves two steps. First, you need to free it from the Antumbra Order. Then, you must cleanse it by finding missing pieces hidden in specific locations. For the Sanctum of Temperance, you’ll need to use a special ability to locate these pieces.
Where to Find the Sanctum of Temperance
The Sanctum of Temperance is one of the closest to Hernand city, which you start near after the prologue. There’s a good chance you’ve already found it. However, if you try to access it before reaching chapter five of the main story, you won’t be able to do anything with it.
To get there, head south from Hernand city until you cross the river. Then, follow the road running east of the river heading south. Continue until you pass the Unicorn Cliff area, then take the first road heading south. This will lead you directly to the sanctum. On the way, you can also unlock an Abyss Nexus.
How to Cleanse the Sanctum of Temperance
When you arrive at the Sanctum of Temperance, your first task is to liberate it by defeating enemies. There will be a progress bar on the left side of your screen when you’re close. Every time you defeat an enemy, this bar decreases. When it hits zero, the sanctum is considered freed.
You’ll encounter several flying enemies inside the sanctum. You can knock them down with an arrow when they aren’t charging an attack, then finish them off with your weapon.
After freeing the sanctum, your next goal is to find a missing cube and a piece of a pillar for the main mechanism. The cube is hidden in a hole on the northern side of the mechanism. You can see an icon for it on your minimap when you’re nearby.
The missing part of the pillar is marked on your map close to the mechanism itself but hidden inside a vine-covered building. Since there’s no fire source inside, the only way to burn the vines is by using your Blinding Flash ability. Hold down the first button after activating this ability to focus light on the vines until they burn away.
As you locate the missing parts, you can store them in your Kuku pot. When you’re ready to assemble, bring them close to the mechanism using the Axiom Force ability. Watch for the appearance of green leaves around the parts—this indicates they’re ready to be placed. Use Force Palm to fit them into their spots, and remember to jump on top of the pillar before using Force Palm to place it downward into position.
