When you add Drifloon as a friend in your town and give him a doll, you unlock the ability to visit Dream Islands. While on a Dream Island, you’ll find many items you can bring back to your town.
Each Dream Island has different things to collect, including building materials, collectibles, and event items. One thing you’ll find on all of them, however, is Stardust. So, what exactly is Stardust, and how do you use it in Pokemon Pokopia?
How to Get Stardust
Star Pieces are made from Stardust. This special material can only be found on Dream Islands. No matter which Dream Island you visit, Stardust is scattered around the edges, especially near or on the beaches. You can also find some in underground areas while exploring the middle of the island.
Since you’ll need a lot of Stardust to make Star Pieces, and you can only visit Dream Islands once per day, it’s a good idea to gather as much as you can each visit.
How to Get Star Pieces
Star Pieces are crafted at a workbench. The first time you collect Stardust, you’ll learn how to make Star Pieces. It takes 99 Stardust to craft one Star Piece. Crafting is the only way to get Star Pieces. Although 99 Stardust might seem like a lot for one Star Piece, each visit to a Dream Island usually yields around 50 Stardust, so it adds up fast.
What to Do with Star Pieces
Once you craft a Star Piece, you can use it in a couple of ways. If you’re playing multiplayer and visiting friends’ towns, you can invite a Pokémon from their town to visit your town. To do this, travel to your friend’s town, talk to the Pokémon you want to move in, and give them the Star Piece you made. In return, your friend will give you a special gift named after them.
When you receive this gift in your town, open it near an empty lot, and you’ll befriend a Pokémon of the same species that was in your friend’s town. The Pokémon will then move into your town.
Don’t worry—you’re not stealing a Pokémon from your friend. The Pokémon that joins you will be a duplicate of the species, not the specific Pokémon your friend owns.
Star Pieces are also used to create Rare Pokemetal. A Pokémon with the Rarify ability can take a Star Piece and transform it into Rare Pokemetal.
