In Pokemon Legends: Z-A, the Mega Dimension DLC begins with a quirky side quest called “Donuts of Unworldly Deliciousness.” This is the first task you’ll do in the DLC and it helps set the mood for what’s ahead. You’ll be exploring Hotel Z, gathering special butter, battling some unexpectedly tough Pokémon, and trying out different donut recipes.
During your journey, you’ll cross distorted maps and follow clues to find various characters. This guide will walk you through how to start the DLC and complete this side mission step by step so you don’t miss anything.
How to Start the Mega Dimension DLC
To access the Mega Dimension DLC in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, you first need to finish the main game completely. After you finish, you’ll get a call on your in-game phone that directs you to go to Hotel Z.
This call officially unlocks the DLC content and kicks off the side quest called “Donuts of Unworldly Deliciousness.”
How to Complete the Donuts of Unworldly Deliciousness Side Mission
After receiving the call, head to the roof of Hotel Z. Here, your first goal is to get some butter from the baker’s stall. To do that, you need to go through the green tunnel archway located on the east side of Magenta Sector 6. This leads directly to the stall. Talk to the NPC there, and you’ll face your first fight.
Prepare for a 2-on-2 battle against Terragon and Grisham. The fight is pretty straightforward; your goal is to defeat their Mega Exadrill and Mega Charizard.
Tip:
- Mega Exadrill is Steel/Ground, so it takes extra damage from Fire, Water, and Fighting moves.
- Mega Charizard is Fire/Flying, making Rock, Water, and Electric moves especially effective.
Once you beat the pair, you’ll earn Lumiosiane Butter from Taunie. Take the butter back to Ansha, who can be found in the lobby of Hotel Z.
Gathering the Butter and Making Donuts
After delivering the butter, you’ll get to choose a donut flavor based on any three berries you have. An example combination is Kasib, Haban, and Chilan berries to make the Chilann Meringue Donut. However, at this stage, the donut choice doesn’t impact much, so feel free to pick whatever berries you want.
Note: Later in the DLC, the type of donut you make will matter for certain outcomes.
Finding Ansha and Traversing the Distortion Tunnel
Following a phone call, go to the roof of Hotel Z once again, then make your way to the nearby Justice Dojo. From there, you need to pass through a distortion to find her. Inside, locate Ansha by walking around the scaffolds and peeking between broken buildings, as there’s no detailed map in this area.
While searching, you’ll encounter surprisingly strong Wild Mankees at level 110. These can be tough, so use Pokémon with Flying, Psychic, or Fairy moves—Gardevoir or Dragonite are good options—to effectively handle the Fighting-type enemies. During this chase, Ansha will run away, so keep following her to continue the mission.
When you catch up to her, a cutscene will end the quest, opening the way for the rest of the DLC content.
