Where to Find Jupiclops
Jupiclops is one of the main bosses in Shadow Labyrinth. You can’t fight it once it’s defeated, so you’ll want to find it first. To get to Jupiclops for the first time, head to the top of the Giant Black Tower. You’ll need to defeat some bosses along the way.
When you reach the tower, your goal is to find a red and a blue power system to operate the elevators of those colors. Before that, you’ll need to get a key card to open the first door. After completing these steps, you can go up the tower and go to the right to find the boss.
If you get defeated during the fight, you will respawn near the middle of the tower. You can then use three elevators to reach the boss again: the first elevator is to the left of the checkpoint, leading to the red and yellow elevators.
Jupiclops First Phase Fight Guide
When the fight begins, it’s divided into three phases based on the boss’s HP bar. The first phase lasts until Jupiclops drops below 60% HP. It’s the easiest phase because it only has a few attack patterns:
- Corner Attack: The boss glows blue and moves to one corner, then crosses the ground, damaging you if you’re hit. When it reaches the other side, it can either go back or sweep again after flashing blue.
- Projectile Attack: Jupiclops moves higher and shoots several projectiles at your current location, marked by a red glow. You can parry these projectiles.
During this phase, if the boss moves to one side, stay in the middle. Wait until it comes close, then dodge through its body. Keep an eye on it in case it sweeps again. To hurt Jupiclops, you need to destroy the two side mechanisms, which form a barrier over it. Jump and slash three times at each mechanism, avoiding hitting them during sweep attacks but attacking during projectile phases.
When Jupiclops performs the projectile attack, wait on the ground, jump when a projectile is about to land, and hit the mechanism. Repeat this to avoid damage. After destroying both mechanisms, Jupiclops will fall down, leaving it open to attack. If you break its HP threshold for the next phase, it will summon the barriers early. You need to break the barrier twice to pass the first phase.
Jupiclops Second Phase Fight Guide
When the boss drops below 60% HP, the second phase begins, signified by a loud scream and the barrier resetting. This phase lasts until it reaches 40% HP and introduces new, tougher attacks:
Attack |
Description |
---|---|
Electric Orb ADVERTISEMENT |
Before the sweep, Jupiclops flies across the battlefield, dropping electric orbs at intervals. After reaching the other side, it lands and performs the sweep. It can do this twice. |
Electric Field |
This rare but deadly attack involves Jupiclops summoning laser triangles. It then creates a damaging electric field within the triangles. To avoid it, wait for the field to lock in and dash out quickly. |
Launch Attack |
The boss jumps at your current position, which is easy to dodge as you can see the attack coming. Move away to avoid it. |
To avoid the Electric Orb attack, move to the side where the orbs are dropping and wait for the sweep attack in between the orbs. Staying close to the start of the orb drop gives you more time to dodge the sweep. Use your basic attacks combined with ESP Blast to break the barrier quickly.
Jupiclops Third Phase Fight Guide
The final phase begins at 40% HP and lasts until the end. Jupiclops now performs a new attack where it jumps to random corners of the arena, which is easy to dodge. However, the challenge increases with faster and more numerous attacks:
In particular, the projectile barrage now fires rapidly, and the summoned orbs are closer together. The launch attack can happen twice in a row, making positioning crucial. You need to stay alert and position yourself well to survive this stage.
Jupiclops Boss Rewards
Defeating Jupiclops not only allows you to move on to the next area but also unlocks a permanent ability. These abilities make fighting regular enemies easier and can give access to new locations.
For Jupiclops, you gain the ESP Barrier ability. This lets you create a barrier that you can hold as long as you like, using ESP. Each attack the barrier absorbs reduces your ESP. The barrier disappears if you release the button or run out of ESP.
