The Friend of the Animal Enthusiast aspiration already exists in The Sims 4, but it doesn’t include the smallest, most fragile creatures—bugs. The Critter Hunter aspiration is ideal for Sims who enjoy collecting insects and learning about moths and butterflies.
This aspiration is part of the Adventure Awaits expansion pack, which offers plenty of outdoor and nature-themed activities in Gibbi Point. From cozy festivals to kids’ camps, there’s lots to explore. Your Sim will become an expert in butterflies and moths and even learn how to flirt in a butterfly way! Here’s what you need to know about the Critter Hunter aspiration in The Sims 4.
All About the Critter Hunter Aspiration
The critter hunter path focuses on developing the Entomology skill and gaining the Collector bonus trait. Collectors tend to find rare items more easily, so your Sim will have an easier time discovering unique and beautiful critters quickly.
When creating a Critter Hunter Sim, pick traits that support this goal. Traits like Hates The Outdoors or Difficulty Focusing could make things harder. The best traits for this aspiration are:
- Loves The Outdoors: Your Sim is enthusiastic about nature and happiest outside.
- Creative: They get inspired easily and enjoy crafting, which is helpful for paper crafts involving bugs.
- Practice Makes Perfect: Skills improve faster for your Sim.
- Genius: They stay focused and love learning.
- Geek: Finding collectibles becomes easier, and they enjoy reading about critters.
While customizing your Sim in CAS (Create-A-Sim), don’t forget to add preferences for things like archery, entomology, fishing, natural living, and papercrafting—handlers will need to enjoy all these activities to meet the aspiration’s requirements.
How to Complete the Critter Hunter Aspiration
There are four stages in this aspiration, each with its own requirements. Once finished, your Sim will be able to communicate with butterflies, moths, and fish, and even enjoy discussing critters with others. They will also learn the mystical mating ritual of butterflies and be able to use this knowledge romantically.
