Power in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is unlocked through various methods, but the most striking source is the secret of red feathers. These rare items enable you to surpass even the toughest bosses and defeat the strongest enemies. However, finding them is not easy.
Red feathers are scattered around the world map and can be obtained in many ways. You’ll need to explore every corner and crevice during your journey. Some are protected by formidable enemies, while others are hidden in obscure locations. No matter how they’re guarded or hidden, your curiosity and skills will be rewarded.
What Are Red Feathers?
Red feathers are upgrade items that help you improve your weapons. Increasing your weapon mastery boosts the damage your weapons deal. There are four levels of red feather rarity, and as you advance in weapon mastery, more and rarer feathers are needed for upgrades.
The requirements for improving your weapon mastery are:

Note: Resetting your Weapon Nodes in the Impetus Repository refunds red feathers, allowing you to switch weapon types without penalty if you choose.
How Do I Find Red Feathers?
You don’t need to collect every red feather in the game, as you will likely gather more than enough to fully upgrade a weapon. Additionally, Wu Gang sells red feathers as your shop expands, so you can fill in any missing ones.
Red feathers are generally found by:
- Exploring hidden or off-path areas
- Defeating powerful enemies
- Defeating Blight-jar enemies

How To Get Lustrous Red Feathers
There are only two Lustrous Red Feathers in total. They are very valuable and worth seeking out:
- The first can be obtained by completing Li Dingguo’s questline and following him to Ferry Overlook. He fights you in the cave and drops this feather.
- The second is found in Featherfall Marsh, sitting on top of a strange golden, bony structure near the two battling giants.
Getting the second Lustrous Feather also grants you an Avian Tear, which provides 100,000 Mercury when used.
Note: Using a Lustrous Red Feather to upgrade a weapon all the way to +10 will earn you the “Wielder of Power” achievement.
