Certain achievements are unlocked simply by playing through the campaign, and difficulty settings influence some. For example, completing all acts on Casual, Normal, Hardcore, or Insane difficulty awards respective trophies.
There are also collectibles called COG tags. Recovering 11, 22, or all 33 tags unlocks additional achievements and Gears comics, which can be read from the main menu.
The active reload mechanic is a skill-based feature. To perform a perfect reload, hit the reload button again when a moving marker reaches the “sweet spot” on the reload bar. Accumulating 25 perfect active reloads or five in a row will unlock achievements.
Killing multiple enemies with explosives or completing specific challenges like closing all e-holes in certain levels also net achievements. Completing the tutorial is essential for some trophies, such as Prison Breakout.
All Co-op Achievements, Explained
Reloaded supports cooperative gameplay, and some achievements require teaming up with friends. Facing General RAAM on Insane difficulty is notably tough, so grinding through lower difficulties might be helpful before attempting it with a partner.
