What Is Frostspore Infection?
Frostspore Infection is a disease that becomes active during winter in Heartopia. You’ll learn about it from characters like Annie and others around town. It causes some unique effects to the island’s animals and environment.
One notable effect is that your avatar’s skin turns blue! This means that if you catch a cold during the winter season, you can unlock a new skin color variation by experiencing Frostspore Infection. But how do you intentionally trigger this?

How to Unlock Blue Skin
It doesn’t depend on how long you stay outside in the cold. Instead, you need to consistently trigger the Frostspore Infection buff during the Frostwave Event Season. To do this, you must:
- Get the snowflake buff six times by touching the snowman on top of the igloo.
Once you’ve turned into a snowman six times and triggered the Frostspore Infection buff, you’ll unlock the Ice Crystal Skin, matching the winter theme and available alongside seasonal items from the Acorn Store.
Note: Interacting with the snowman has a 10-minute cooldown, so plan your actions accordingly.
Best Places to Trigger Frostspore Infection
To increase your chances, visit these spots:
- Around the Fishing Village, especially near the eastern entrance across the Giantwood River bridge.
- Near Onsen Mountain, particularly under the bridge leading to the ruins.
- In the center of town, on the road between Residential Street and Art Street.
