The first expedition for Arc Raiders has officially happened, causing many players to be reset to square one. Along with losing their gear, quest progress, and skill points, the Trials rankings have also been reset for the season.
This season introduces a new set of Trials for players to complete and earn three stars on. Since many players’ progress has been wiped, achieving three stars is a quick way to earn Rare and Epic materials, including blueprints. Here’s everything you need to know about how to easily get three stars during Season 2, Week 1 Trials:
Search First Wave Husks Trial
To earn three stars, you need to find any of the old, silver-colored husks of dead ARCs scattered across the battlefield. These husks come in three sizes: the smallest resembles a destroyed wasp, the medium looks like a broken Rocketeer, and the largest is a big baron, about the size of a Queen.
All these husks can be broken into and searched, but what matters most is rummaging through them. It doesn’t matter who opens the husk; what counts is that you actually search them.
The best place to find first-wave husks is the area between Ancient Fort and Ridge Line on the Blue Gate map. This is a large battleground filled with dead ARC husks, making it easy to break into and search. Since this area has a high concentration of husks—mostly small and medium-sized ARCs—you can quickly reach three stars simply by running around and inspecting their bodies. Keep in mind, this open landscape makes you more vulnerable, so watch out for Raiders.
Damage Leapers Trial
This trial is the most challenging, especially since your gear might be limited after the expedition. The goal is to fully kill two Leapers during a Night Raid or double XP event to earn three stars. The best maps for this are Blue Gate or Dam Battlegrounds, both of which reliably spawn Leapers. I recommend focusing on Blue Gate because it’s particularly good for hunting Leapers.
On Blue Gate, the key locations are the Adorned Wreckage and Ruined Homestead, where Leapers tend to appear. After killing one, hang around a bit—another will eventually spawn. On Dam Battlegrounds, look near the Water Treatment Elevator and outside the Testing Annex, where Leapers frequently show up and buildings provide cover for protection.
Harvest Plants Trials
This is a straightforward trial. All you must do is harvest 14–15 plants in a single run. Looting containers with plants inside doesn’t count—your character must physically loot the plants themselves, like small trees or bushes.
It’s best to do this during the Cold Snap event, which spreads Candleberries everywhere and increases the number of harvestable plants. The ideal map for this is Buried City during the event, due to the abundance of Candleberries on the outskirts and the Galleria’s rich supply of Great Mullein on its lower floor. Marano Park is also good because it has lemon and apricot trees, but be prepared for ARC encounters.
Search Frozen Raider Caches Trial
This trial can only be completed on maps with the Cold Snap event active. Each cache grants 1,000 XP, so searching at least four caches is necessary to reach three stars.
Caches are usually hidden in the wilderness near map edges, and they emit a distinct ticking sound that grows louder as you approach. Listening carefully for the sound, especially in windy conditions, is crucial since the caches are well concealed in foliage.
You don’t have to breach the caches yourself; just searching through them counts. Good maps for this are Spaceport and Dam Battlegrounds. Caches tend to spawn around the perimeter walls or in the forests in those areas.
Destroy Ticks
The easiest trial involves destroying Ticks. The best location for this is Stella Montis, where Ticks are abundant. During a Night Raid, you’ll need to eliminate between 7 and 9 Ticks, which is manageable since many spawn points are clustered.
Ideal spots include the Cultural Archive, which usually has 6–8 Ticks hiding around, making it easy to clear the area in one go. If you’re short of Ticks, you can also go to the Seed Vault nearby, which often has a good number. The Vault’s close proximity to an escape point means you can finish the task and exit quickly.
