Tipping Point is a heavily fortified Order bunker built into the cliffs in the southern Fadefields area near Wyclef’s Reprieve. Getting into the bunker and advancing to the boss fight against Mimicron at the lowest level requires careful thinking and smart tactics. If you’re having trouble figuring it out, this guide will walk you through the steps.
### How to Enter Tipping Point Bunker
Tipping Point is located just outside of Wyclef’s Reprieve, the safe house near Fortress Indomita. You can reach it either by taking the elevator down the cliffs or by gliding northwest from the safe house. The bunker entrance is on raised platforms, so if you fall into the canyon, you’ll need to climb back up or teleport to Wyclef’s Reprieve and try again.
Begin by eliminating the enemies guarding the bunker’s entrance. Clearing them not only makes it easier to move around but also rewards you with extra experience and loot. After securing the area, face the main door and turn left. You’ll find a path that leads around the corner where a large vent fan is on the wall, with a chest tucked into the corner on your right. Climb through the vent fan to access a hidden area behind the wall, find another chest, then go through the door on the east side.
Follow the path upward; you’ll need to stand on the ledge at the top of the stairs, then jump to the yellow-and-black wall at the ceiling. Here, you’ll find a Locust Canister. Grab it quickly and then drop down through the rusted grate in the floor, back outside the bunker. Throw the Locust at the bunker door before it explodes; if successful, it will dissolve the bio-armor and open the bunker permanently for further exploration.
### How to Get Through Tipping Point Bunker
Inside, fight your way through a room with yellow cubes; the enemies are standard Order troops, similar to those fought outside. Be prepared for armored enemies and shields. After clearing the room, exit to the north and follow the hallway to the first manufacturing floor. Again, clear out all enemies to make navigation easier.
Locate a battery in a charging station in the southwest corner. Take the battery to power the main console near the conveyor belt and press the button to open the door to the next area—a testing lab. In the lab, find another battery on a raised conveyor belt against the northwest wall and deliver it to the observation deck nearby, then press the button.
Proceed through the next room, which contains a stuck elevator. Crouch inside the elevator car to explore containers, then climb onto the top of the elevator to progress. Climb the slotted wall on your right, then jump to the left wall and continue climbing until you reach the top. A final hallway leads to a respawn room before facing Mimicron, the boss.
### How to Beat Mimicron
Before the fight, restock your ammo at vending machines and sell any extra junk. Then, drop down the southern chute to confront the boss. Mimicron is a melee enemy, so keep moving and avoid staying in one place. Stay out of their close-range strikes; their thrown weapons cause minimal damage if you keep your distance.
Mimicron’s clones tend to stay close and only use shields. Use shock or radiation explosions to quickly take out all the clones at once. Keep moving to avoid getting cornered, climbing over crates or objects to maintain distance. Focus on wearing down Mimicron’s shields and armor steadily. If you get downed, destroy one clone quickly to regain health (Second Wind), then put as much space as possible between yourself and the boss to recover fully.
After defeating Mimicron, you can use the purple orb to return to the prep room and restart the fight with Moxxi’s Big Encore, or take the chute back to the area near the entrance with the yellow cubes. Alternatively, you can quickly leave by using Fast Travel if you need to exit the bunker quickly.
