What Are Home Worlds?
Home Worlds are small, peaceful areas you can build and customize separately from the main game world. These are like private pocket dimensions where you can relax, craft, farm, and decorate without danger.
The first Home World, called the Torii Realm, is available automatically for players who own the Supporter’s Edition or those who received early access. This realm is added to your Steam library under the DLC options once the update is live.
Features of Home Worlds
- They are peaceful zones without hostile enemies unless these are brought in from outside.
- You can build, farm, craft, and decorate freely.
- Time passes normally, so plants grow, and fishing still works.
- You can bring furniture back and forth between the main game and your Home World.
- To make repeated visits easier, you can build teleport pads or personal teleporters between your base and the Torii portal.
How To Access a Home World
When you start the game after the 1.0 update, a new teleportation terminal appears in the Office Plaza, which is the first main hub area. Follow these steps to reach your Home World:
- Go to the Office Plaza, where the fountain and tram are located.
- Head south from Officer Warren’s position, then turn left and go up the stairs to reach Server Room 01.
- Look for a sealed door on the wall with a swirling symbol and a keypad beside it.
- If you don’t have the Tier 1 Keypad Hacker, you’ll need to advance the story by talking to Alice Mayfield or crafting one yourself to hack the door.
- Once hacked, the door opens to reveal the Torii portal, a pink swirling disc between two large servers and behind a cherry blossom tree.
- Walk into the portal to travel to your Home World.
You can craft a Keypad Hacker at a powered Crafting Bench using one Controller, one LCD Screen, and one Infrared Emitter.
After your first visit, you can return anytime by using the portal in the plaza or your personal teleporters. Future updates will add more realms and portals for exploring other Home Worlds.
Can You Share Home Worlds in Multiplayer?
Yes, Home Worlds can be shared during multiplayer sessions if the host owns the realm, like the Torii Realm. Server admins can enable specific Home Worlds for visitors, allowing friends to enter your peaceful space and help with decorating or resource gathering.
If you don’t have the Supporter’s Pack, you won’t be able to access the Torii Home World Portal. You can purchase the Supporter’s Pack on Steam under the Downloadable Content section on the Abiotic Factor store page.
These realms are linked to the host’s content and will only appear if enabled during the session. Since Home Worlds follow typical portal mechanics, their data works like regular world saves and respect multiplayer rules, including permissions and resets.
