What Is Infamy?

Wildgate has a system called Infamy, which tracks your progress and rank in PvP combat. Think of it like a ranking system in other games like Overwatch. It shows how skilled you are based on your wins and losses.

Unlike other systems, Infamy is optional. You have to turn it on in the game settings. Once enabled, your Infamy rank will start updating according to your game results, with wins earning points and losses reducing them.

How To Turn On Infamy

To activate the system, go to the ‘Customize’ menu, then select ‘Misc’ and ‘Player Cards’. There, you’ll see the Infamy Badge, which is bronze. Equip this badge in either Slot One or Slot Two on your Player Card. Keep it equipped for your rank to show up and be tracked.

How Infamy Works

Once the badge is equipped, the system takes effect. You’ll earn and lose points based on game outcomes:

  • One victory gives you 10 points
  • One defeat causes you to lose a variable number of points depending on your current rank

Higher ranks tend to have more significant penalties for losses, making it tougher to maintain top positions. For example, at the Marauder rank, you won’t lose any points if you lose a match.

Point Tiers and Rank Progression

You need to reach certain point totals to advance to the next rank:

  1. 10 Points
  2. 30 Points
  3. 60 Points
  4. 100 Points
  5. 200 Points

Hitting these point thresholds promotes you to the next rank. Even if you lose points, you won’t drop below your current rank during the same month. Your rank remains for the entire month, and rankings are reset monthly.
