Pokemon Pokopia isn’t a game you finish and then it’s over. It has a story, but that’s probably not why you’re here. How long the game takes really depends on what you choose to do. To give you a clearer idea, here are some rough time estimates based on different playstyles, without spoiling too much. If you’re already playing, this can also give you an idea of what’s coming up.
How Long Does It Take To Complete Pokemon Pokopia?
There are a few ways to look at this question:
- If you follow the main story quickly, it takes about 20 hours to reach the ending.
- If you take your time, catch non-essential Pokemon, and focus on building and exploring, it can take around 65 hours to see the credits with about 70% of all Pokemon unlocked.
- If your goal is to befriend every Pokemon, expect to spend between 100 and 150 hours, depending on your play style.
- To unlock every item, recipe, building, relic, CD, and complete all side tasks, you’ll likely need at least 250 hours.
How To Roll Credits In Pokemon Pokopia
The game’s ending is separate from the credits. Which one you consider the “end” depends on how you play, since you can keep going afterward to catch every Pokemon.
The most obvious ending happens after you complete the tall building in the final area, Sparkling Skylands. When you do, you’ll meet a special Legendary Pokemon (we won’t spoil who). This Pokemon will give you some mysterious prophecies, and they’re number 299 out of 300 in your Pokedex. While we haven’t unlocked all the other 298 yet, it seems there’s a true ending that involves befriending all 299 Pokemon.
However, the credits roll after completing the Team Initiation Challenge, which involves raising the environment level of Sparkling Skylands to five. Doing this unlocks a new minor zone where you catch Magnemite, which is necessary to befriend every Pokemon.
How Many Regions Are There In Pokemon Pokopia?
The main story includes four regions:
- Withering Wastes
- Rocky Ridges
- Bleak Beach
- Sparkling Skylands
You unlock each by completing the previous area’s story and raising your Trainer Rank to open the gates.
There’s also a fifth region, connected to Withering Wastes via a road off the coast over the hill. This area isn’t needed for the main story but features unique Pokemon like Eevee, its evolutions, and the Legendary Birds from Kanto. It’s mainly an open zone for customization, where you set up habitats to find every Pokemon. The game calls this region Palette Town, but you can change its name when you arrive.
