Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is a game that has been in development for nearly twenty years. Now, after all the anticipation, Samus Aran’s newest adventure is available for the Nintendo Switch 2 and its predecessor. Since Retro Studios is once again behind its development, fans expect a game that is both grand and challenging. They hope for a story-rich campaign complemented by plenty of side activities. Here’s how long it takes to finish the game.
How Long Does It Take to Complete the Campaign?
On our playthrough using the Normal difficulty, it took exactly 12 hours and 12 minutes to see the credits roll. During this time, we completed about 79% of the scans and found roughly 73% of the items. Although we left some side content for later, we spent a good amount of time exploring the open areas of Viewros to upgrade weapons and abilities. This gives a good estimate of the typical time needed to complete the main story.
Keep in mind, completing the game on Hard Mode requires finishing it on Normal first. Hard Mode offers more difficulty and will likely take longer to beat.
How Long to 100% the Game?
Searching Viewros for all the Green Energy Crystals and locating every missile and shot upgrade can be quite time-consuming. Expect to spend extra hours ensuring you’ve collected everything. Once you get the Thunder Shot ability, you can activate scouting droids in each major area to automatically mark all uncollected items on your map, making it easier to achieve full completion.
You can check your total playtime and progress percentage anytime from the pause menu. Remember, if you start a new game on Hard Mode with an existing save, none of your upgrades or scans will carry over. Make sure to gather everything you want before facing the final boss.
