The destruction in Battlefield 6 feels a bit unpredictable because it’s not as open-ended as in earlier games. You can’t completely destroy buildings or change the level with your actions. Instead, the destruction follows set patterns that don’t vary much each time you play.
One issue is that the rules about destruction aren’t very clear. Sometimes a building will stand firm despite a tank shell, while other times it will collapse from just one explosive. I’ve broken down everything you need to know about how destruction works in Battlefield 6, so you can use this info to help your team and gain an advantage.
Battlefield 6 introduces a new system called “Tactical Destruction,” which means that parts of structures will fall in predictable ways when hit. The debris and damaged buildings will look the same across different matches, so you can learn what things are destructible and how they change the field. Keep in mind, if you’re caught under collapsing terrain, you’ll take damage.
Many weapons and tools can bring buildings down, but some are more effective than others:
– Frag grenades aren’t very good for destroying things; they’re better for attacking enemies.
– For bigger damage, use powerful explosives like C4 from the Recon class or grenade launchers available to the Assault class.
– To blow up large parts of buildings, the Engineer’s RPGs and heavy vehicles like IFVs and tanks are your best options. These vehicles have weapons that can significantly damage structures, and you can also crash into objects to clear your path.
It’s important to remember that not everything can be destroyed. Buildings usually get torn down to just their skeletal frameworks but aren’t completely flattened. Some archways and certain parts of structures are indestructible to prevent vehicles from causing too much destruction.
For example, in the center of the Iberian Offensive map, some buildings can’t be fully destroyed, and debris piles up to let you climb through the ruins to reach upper floors. However, some stairs and sections of the upper floors are completely indestructible.
Tactical destruction is a key part of Battlefield 6, but it’s just as important to learn how to revive teammates and repair vehicles to stay in the fight.
