Deadlock seamlessly combines team-oriented gameplay with frantic shooting action, requiring both strategic thinking and quick reflexes to truly excel. Knowing each hero’s abilities is crucial, but navigating the game’s map also demands careful planning each time you change lanes.
As you explore, you’ll encounter a unique feature called Sinner’s Sacrifice. This mechanic introduces an element of chance and skill. Resembling slot machines, these devices provide various buffs that can significantly aid you as you progress. If you’re after detailed insights on how this feature works, you’re in the right place.
Keep in mind that Deadlock is currently in alpha, meaning this guide could be updated as the game evolves.
What Is Sinner’s Sacrifice?
As you play, keep an eye out for slot machines that allow you to perform Sinner’s Sacrifice. This mechanic involves using a melee attack (by pressing Q) to strike the machine, earning you souls with each hit.
These machines typically have 500 HP, meaning you can hit them three to five times before they break.
It’s important to note that you cannot destroy the machine with bullets or special abilities—only melee attacks will do the trick.
Above the machine, you’ll see a row of light bulbs indicating its remaining HP. Each hit reduces the number of glowing bulbs. As you’re about to deal the final blow, the bulbs will begin to glow in a sequence. Your goal is to strike the machine when all the bulbs are lit, which increases your rewards. You could earn over 300 souls and gain specific buffs depending on the timing of your Sinner’s Sacrifice.
To maximize your damage, press and hold Q, then release it just before the final bulb lights up.
How to Locate a Sinner’s Sacrifice Slot Machine

Similar to Gold Urns, which offer various enhancements, the Sinner’s Sacrifice slot machines are also dispersed throughout the map. Their availability fluctuates as the game progresses.
Typically, these machines can be found near the first set of enemies that spawn in any lane. Ensure your minions are safely advancing past these enemies so you can navigate the area without obstruction.
This is an effective way to collect souls when playing as a skirmisher, allowing you to move quickly between points without focusing on a single lane. The Sinner’s Sacrifice is best executed during the early to mid-game phases.
Using a stealthy character like Haze can help you successfully perform Sinner’s Sacrifice without drawing enemy attention.
