How Aspects Function in Abyssus: Completing and Solving

During your journey in Abyssus, you’ll come across various altars where you can select Blessings. These Blessings are linked to specific categories called Aspects, which serve as different types of upgrades. Some Aspects are elemental, while others focus on offensive or defensive tactics, or even enhance your luck during your run.

With so many Aspect options available, you might wonder how each one functions. This guide explains every Aspect type, how they work, and highlights some of the top blessings within each category.

What Are Aspects?

Aspects are groups of blessings related to specific skills. Each Aspect offers unique benefits for your adventure and is randomly chosen at altars in each playthrough. They can enhance various parts of your build, including:

Damage Type
Damage Output
Defense
Health Pool
Gold Found

Keep in mind that blessings and Aspects are only temporary. You cannot carry Aspects over between runs, so even if you find blessings you like, you’ll have to start fresh each time.

How Aspects Work

When you reach an altar, you’ll need to select two things: an Aspect category and a blessing. After choosing a category, you’ll be offered two blessings to choose from. Each blessing fits into one of the three attack options:

Primary Fire – Your main weapon fire
Secondary Fire – Your secondary weapon fire
Ability – Your sub-weapon or special skill

Certain blessings are more effective when used with specific attack types. For example, defensive blessings tend to work best on primary or secondary fires, as they help charge shields more effectively. When you assign an Aspect and blessing to an attack, using that attack will trigger the blessing’s effects.

Notably, every third and sixth blessing you pick from the same Aspect category grants you a Minor or Major Blessing—powerful upgrades that can also boost your synergy with other game charms.

In Abyssus, there are ten different Aspect categories, each providing unique advantages and blessings. Some blessings outperform others within their categories.

To recall a particular Aspect or blessing, check your Logbook in the lobby. There, you’ll see each expedition’s blessings and a list of all the Aspects you’ve collected so far.
