“Hollow Knight: Silksong” offers a range of Wish quests you can finish, including “Crawbug Clearing.” In this quest, you need to find special items called Ragpelts. These pelts are tricky to get because you have to defeat certain enemies to earn them. This can make the quest feel boring, but some simple tips can help you complete it faster.
The “Crawbug Clearing” quest is easy to overlook, but it’s important because it unlocks a hidden Act 3 in the game. This secret part of the story is only available through the “Silk and Soul” Wish, which you can only access after completing all the other side quests in the first two Acts.
How to Get the Crawbug Clearing Quest
Accept an Unusual Hunt from the Right Character
To start the quest, head to Bellhart and accept it from the Wishwell bulletin board. This board shows the mission you want. You can choose to accept the quest right away or start it later after you understand what it requires. The Bellhart area that has the Wishwall is pretty easy to reach during your main story. You can find it by traveling between the paths leading to Shellwood in the west and Greymoor to the east, in a spot where some characters you’ve met before might be hanging out.
Unlike some other NPC interactions, like with the Wandering Merchant, you don’t need to finish a separate side quest beforehand to unlock Creige or their Wishwall.
The goal of the “Crawbug Clearing” Wish is to collect at least 25 Ragpelts. These are dropped by Crawbugs, flying enemies that spawn in different rooms of Greymoor. However, these enemies appear randomly and don’t always drop Ragpelts, so it can be tough to reach the needed amount. The best way to farm Ragpelts is to find a spot where Crawbugs spawn often, defeat them once, then rest and come back to do it again. One of the easiest spots is near the Halfway Home, where Creige, the quest giver, is located.
Pro Tip: The top of the Halfway Home is easier to reach if you have certain tools like Hornet’s Double Jump, the Clawline Grappling Hook, or other movement gear. Going through the right exit will let you climb onto the roof of the building, where two Crawbugs always appear. Killing them will give you a steady supply of Ragpelts. You can then go back inside and repeat the process as many times as needed.
Once you collect enough Ragpelts, talk to Creige again to finish the quest. You’ll receive a Spare Crafting Kit that boosts your tools’ damage, making ranged attacks, traps, and other gear more powerful. After you return to the area later, Creige will have used the Ragpelts to build a large scarecrow, keeping Crawbugs away from the spot. No more Crawbugs will spawn there, making it a safe place to relax and keep collecting Ragpelts for this quest.
