What PS5 port has received favorable feedback?
New Super Lucky’s Tale, an upgraded version of the original PS4 release, is now available. The updated game showcases improved visuals, enhanced performance, and DualSense controller features that elevate the platforming segments beyond the original experience.
This version offers performance boosts up to 120 FPS along with 4K resolution support. The game originally debuted in 2019 as an improved remake of the 2017 Super Lucky’s Tale, which itself was a sequel to the 2016 VR platformer Lucky’s Tale — a launch title for Oculus Rift. Players follow Lucky, a charming character, journeying through different worlds hidden inside an ancient book.
The refreshed version has garnered rave reviews. Tyler Treese from PlayStation Lifestyle awarded it an 8 out of 10, praising how the game “never gets boring or repetitive.” He noted, “It’s a streamlined experience, clocking in at around seven hours, with just a few extra hours needed for 100% completion if chasing the Platinum trophy. Its variety and consistently solid platforming make it a fun game to finish in a few sittings.”
Fingal Belmont from Niche Gamer also gave it an 8.5 out of 10, mentioning, “Developers showed restraint, avoiding overloading the game with unlockables or flashy set pieces. They concentrated on core elements, making each shine. While the high-level skill ceiling isn’t very demanding and Lucky himself isn’t particularly exciting, the sincerity in both the character and gameplay keeps players engaged.”
The game also received an 85 from PSX Brasil and an 8 out of 10 from Couple of Gamer.
