Updating Animal Crossing: New Horizons is similar to other Nintendo Switch games—an update prompt should appear when you launch the game. But since the 3.0 update was released earlier than expected, some players are facing difficulties. Keep in mind, the newer Switch 2 upgrade isn’t available yet, so if that’s why the update isn’t installing, just wait a little longer. How to download the Animal Crossing New Horizons 3.0 update

The 3.0 update for Animal Crossing New Horizons should install automatically. When you start the game, you’ll see an option to update right away, just like with other Switch titles. To manually check for updates, highlight the game on your home screen, press the + button, then select ‘Software Update’ and choose ‘Via the Internet’ to download any available updates.
