Guide to Every CCTV Camera ID and Their Usage

You can enhance the security of your base in Rust by installing several CCTV cameras around your home and programming them with the correct ID codes. This added layer of surveillance helps you identify potential threats early on. While some CCTV devices may appear worn out, anyone fortunate enough to obtain one will appreciate the advantages this technology offers.

Prior to setting up your CCTV cameras, it’s essential to build a Computer Station, which unlocks the devices hidden throughout the game servers. Just like many of the top defensive measures in Rust, there are steps to follow to maximize the effectiveness of these cameras. You can find cameras near crash sites, during Airdrops, or in loot crates scattered across the sandbox world. A vital component for establishing a CCTV camera at your base is an electrical power source. This will ensure the camera functions smoothly.

How to Create a Computer Station in Rust

Build Your Setup from Scrap

The blueprint for creating a Computer Station is one of the default designs available in the game. To assemble it, you will need 20 High-Quality Metal, 1 Targeting Computer, 1 Broadcaster, and 1 Receiver. You can craft this station at a Level 1 Workbench, which you likely already have for creating various basic items throughout your Rust experience.

Each of these components can usually be found in either Supply Drops or hidden chests located at various Monument sites. After you construct your Computer Station, position it somewhere secure within your base to protect it from potential attacks in Rust. You can input a range of ID codes via the Station’s interface to access different camera views around your base.

The Codes You Need to Know

The main screen of your Computer Station will remain blank until you enter an ID code. Navigate to the "Identifier to Add" section located in the bottom left corner of the interface to activate a prompt for input.

Keep in mind that not all servers in Rust contain Monuments equipped with CCTV cameras that you can access via a Computer Station. Some of the IDs might not function if your map lacks specific structures.

Once you reach this stage, you can easily type out codes to save on a list for future use, making it simple to select from the main interface.

Location Codes
Airfield AIRFIELDGARAGE, AIRFIELDHELIPAD
Nuclear Missile Silo SILOEXIT1, SILOEXIT2, SILOMISSILE, SILOSHIPPING, SILOTOWER
Large Oil Rig OILRIG2DOCK, OILRIG2L1, …, OILRIG2HELI, OILRIG2EXHAUST
Small Oil Rig OILRIG1DOCK, OILRIG1L1, …, OILRIG1HELI
Outpost COMPOUNDSTREET, COMPOUNDCRUDE, COMPOUNDMUSIC, COMPOUNDCHILL
Radtown RADTOWNHOUSE, RADTOWNSBL, RADTOWNAPARTMENTS
Abandoned Military Base COMPOUND#######, OUTDOOR######

For securing additional camera coverage, you can place surveillance tools made from found materials around your base. By utilizing a CCTV camera near your home and accessing others scattered around the map, you’ll be better prepared for any incoming threats.

What to Do If Codes Don’t Work

Troubleshooting Your Codes

The most prevalent issue you might encounter is simply inputting your code incorrectly. Additionally, if you fail to append the dynamic number for randomly generated codes, that could also lead to problems. Note that the codes for the Abandoned Military Base change frequently and must be located on-site. This can make them tricky to find, and in rare instances, a specific lab might not have them at all.

Moreover, ensure that your cameras are powered; if they are not functioning, it’s likely due to a lack of electricity. If needed, you can adjust the positioning of a camera using a Hammer. However, your Computer Station does not require a power connection. Remember that cameras can be destroyed, as they have 150 HP, so handle them carefully.

In summary, CCTV cameras can significantly simplify the process of scouting your base and other areas before embarking on expeditions. Be cautious, as players can potentially compromise your cameras if they guess your ID correctly. It’s best to choose a secure identifier and check your surveillance regularly to ensure safety around your base in Rust.
