There are many ways to experience Sniper Elite: Resistance. This applies not only to your approach in the Campaign but also to the variety of game modes that can transform the gameplay significantly.
One of the most transformative modes is Survival Mode. This mode shifts the focus away from sniping from long distances, stealth tactics, and other elements typical to Sniper Elite. In Survival Mode, the objective is to secure a location against waves of attacking Nazis and, ultimately, to endure the onslaught.
Guide to Obtaining All Survival Ribbons
In Survival Mode, players can earn 13 different ribbons:
Ribbon | Requirement |
---|---|
Sentry Service | Eliminate 15 Nazis while in proximity to the Command Post. |
Survivor | Complete a Survival Mission. |
Boom Barrage | Destroy 10 Nazis with the Panzerfaust. |
High Achiever | Kill 10 Nazis, with each kill earning at least 300 points. |
Post Protector | Eliminate 5 Nazis who are trying to capture your Command Post. |
Flawless Fighter | Kill 10 Nazis without taking any damage. |
Consecutive Carnage | Achieve the highest number of kills in two consecutive waves. |
No Quarter | Finish a stage without losing your Command Post. |
Steadfast | Complete a stage without getting incapacitated. |
Sniper Suppressor | Eliminate 5 Nazi snipers with headshots. |
Rider’s Remorse | Destroy 10 Nazis while they are still in their vehicles. |
Machine Gun Maverick | Kill 10 Nazis using an MG42. |
Fortress Keeper | Finish a stage without allowing any enemy to reach the Command Post. |
Sentry Service
Your location in Survival Mode will greatly influence your ability to earn this ribbon. If you frequently position yourself inside the Command Post, you stand to earn this ribbon more often due to the ample cover and available supplies.
However, if you’ve chosen a spot far from the Command Post, getting this ribbon will be much harder.
This ribbon’s viability heavily depends on your chosen location.
Survivor
This ribbon may take the longest to earn, but the good news is that you don’t have to follow any strict tactics.
Simply completing an entire Survival Mode mission will earn you this ribbon. Expect various waves across multiple locations. While it’s possible to achieve this solo, teamwork makes the challenge much easier.
Boom Barrage
You’ll often find several Panzerfausts nearby your Command Post. They’re easy to pick up and use, especially when surrounded by groups of Nazis ripe for an explosive attack.
Be cautious not to waste your shots, as they are limited. Ensure you’re not firing too close to friendly units.
High Achiever
Earning the High Achiever ribbon can be tricky, as it requires you to secure kills with various modifiers.
These modifiers can include performing headshots, organ shots, eliminating multiple enemies in one go, and destroying vehicles. The points earned per kill are displayed at the bottom right of your screen, so monitor this to understand which actions yield the most points.
Post Protector
Securing the Post Protector ribbon can be straightforward. However, it ironically becomes harder if your team is performing exceptionally well.
This ribbon is earned by eliminating Nazis who are attempting to capture the Command Post. If your team excels, it means enemies aren’t reaching the post, so you might have to let some get closer before you engage.
Flawless Fighter
Achieving ten kills without taking damage is manageable if you position yourself correctly or have supportive teammates.
While playing solo, you’ll need to be proficient with your sniper rifle and select a location that has solid sightlines and minimal access for foes.
If you have teammates, it helps if they are more aggressive, drawing the enemy’s attention while you aim from a secure spot.
Consecutive Carnage
You’ll need to be in a group to earn this ribbon, as it won’t track in solo play.
To achieve this, you must have the most kills in two consecutive waves. If your team is coordinated, you can easily alert them to allow you this opportunity. Without coordination, you’ll need to take aggressive action to eliminate enemies before your teammates can shoot, which will put you in risky positions.
No Quarter
This ribbon is relatively easy to achieve in many scenarios. Most early stages can be completed without the enemy successfully capturing the Command Post.
Ensure you adequately cover your sightlines, and keep at least one player near the Command Post to eliminate any Nazis that may slip through.
Steadfast
Steadfast is as easy to earn as No Quarter. If you’re cautious and covering the right angles, you can get through a stage without being incapacitated.
The key advice is to stay covered as much as possible. Position yourself where enemies will struggle to flank you and where you can maintain a clear line of sight to take them out.
Sniper Suppressor
During most rounds, enemy snipers will spawn, typically one or two at a time. Often, they won’t have a direct line of sight on the objective. You can usually finish off all the other Nazis before dealing with them.
Enemy snipers often appear on rooftops. Look for glints that reveal their scope.
Rider’s Remorse
The Rider’s Remorse ribbon can be easily earned through the use of heavy explosives like Pressure Mines or TNT. Expect to see enemy vehicles frequently throughout Survival Mode, especially in later waves.
Set up Pressure Mines in the roadway between rounds, and always have a Panzerfaust ready for these encounters.
If the vehicle is a car or motorcycle, you can also obtain this ribbon by shooting the driver and passengers before they exit.
Machine Gun Maverick
MG42s are often dropped by specialized enemies and can also be found scattered throughout the map. These weapons deliver heavy firepower and come with 100 rounds to eliminate your targets.
In solo play, these weapons can be particularly useful, balancing the odds against enemies. Be sure to conserve your ammunition and only take a few shots at each enemy to maximize your firepower.
Fortress Keeper
This ribbon is essentially a more challenging version of the No Quarter ribbon: you must not allow any enemies to reach the Command Post.
If you’re playing by yourself, this can be tough since enemies may approach from multiple directions, making it hard to cover all areas. Strategically placed traps, such as Teller Mines and Grenade Booby Traps, will be very helpful.
When playing in a team, make sure to divide your sightlines so that everyone is focused on different angles; this teamwork will make it much harder for enemies to establish a foothold.
