A highly anticipated 2025 Sega PS5 game has unexpectedly released a free demo on the PS Store, offering more content than expected. Virtual Fighter 5 REVO World Stage is essentially the definitive edition of Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown, developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio.
Virtua Fighter 5 REVO World Stage demo is free for all PS5 players—no PS Plus subscription needed.
The demo includes offline modes, so players can try it out without a PlayStation Plus membership. According to Sega, here’s what you can access for free:
- World Stage: Try a segment of the new single-player mode, where you’ll face AI opponents modeled after real-world players.
- Arcade: Compete through eight stages against CPU foes.
- Training: Practice your fighter’s moves, mechanics, and techniques.
The playable characters featured in the demo are Jackie Bryant, Wolf Hawkfield, Eileen, Pai Chan, Goh Hinogami, and Jean Kujo.
However, save data from the demo doesn’t transfer to the full game, and the demo doesn’t include Virtua Fighter 5’s free training mode.
The full version costs $19.99 and requires a PS Plus subscription to play. It offers rollback netcode, cross-platform support, a new single-player mode, improved replay features, expanded training tools, and more.
Owners of Virtua Fighter Ultimate Showdown on PS4 are not eligible for a free upgrade to the PS5 version.
