Encounters of the Wild is one of the most exciting stories in Ghost of Yotei, but it requires a bit of effort to complete. To advance this quest, you need to find and enter the Sarufutsu Lighthouse located in the Teshio Ridge. Here’s how to do it.
Like many of the Nine Tails locations in Ghost of Yotei’s Teshio Ridge, this lighthouse involves solving a puzzle. But there’s more to this story than just the puzzle—this is one of the most interesting and rewarding spots in the game. Don’t miss out on exploring it.
Where to Find the Sarufutsu Lighthouse
The Sarufutsu Lighthouse is marked on the map, but it’s not on the Sarufutsu River as the name might suggest. Instead, it’s located much further south. Specifically, it’s in a small area on the southern part of the east coast that juts out before the map’s edge turns into unreachable territory. The lighthouse is a large tower, so it’s hard to miss, though it might be in a different spot than you expect.
How to Solve the Sarufutsu Lighthouse Puzzle
Inside the lighthouse, you’ll find two empty plinths in front of the door. To open the door and continue with Encounters of the Wild, you need to place a fox statue on each plinth. The statues are already in the room but won’t move on their own. Next to them, there are larger fox statues on either side. By rotating these larger statues properly, you can free the smaller fox statues so they can be placed on the plinths. The key is to make both large foxes face inward. Once done, pick up the small fox statues and position them facing away from each other.
After solving the puzzle, you’ll be taken into a Nine Tails fortress. Don’t worry—there’s no combat to face here.
