PlayStation Reveals Updates on Ghost of Yotei
Recently, PlayStation held a dedicated State of Play event for Ghost of Yotei, an upcoming PlayStation 5 game. During this event, there were several announcements, including a special mode inspired by director Shinichirō Watanabe of “Samurai Champloo” and “Cowboy Bebop.” Additionally, the PlayStation 5 Pro will finally feature custom plates.
Despite the event, discussions about the game continue, including the removal of a significant gameplay feature from the original Ghost of Tsushima.
Atsu Will Have Several Weapons but No Stances
In a new interview with GamesRadar, creative directors Nate Fox and Jason Connell shared more details about the game. They introduced new ideas, including not having to travel to different icons on the map to interact with characters or shops. This change also applies to combat: the stance system has been removed and replaced with various weapons.
Fox explained, “With Yotei, we’ve added many layers to create a more improvisational feel to the combat. We’ve added a fifth weapon, and these weapons are not just for show.”
For example, the spear can knock enemies back, while the kusarigama (a blade on a chain) can take out multiple foes at once. Players can even disarm enemies and use their own weapons against them.
These updates promise a more natural and creative way to face the game’s enemies. Unlike the first game, where players needed to switch stances to defeat specific foes, it sounds like players can handle battles as they choose.
