Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offers a variety of engaging interactions. Following the main storyline in an RPG can become monotonous, making it worthwhile to dive into the expansive world of the game and uncover its distinct side quests. One enjoyable side quest you can embark on early in the game is called “Frogs,” which starts by speaking with Old Olbram in Zhelejov.
This quest incorporates some playful yet challenging antics. Here’s how to navigate the tasks Olbram assigns you in the nearby village.
If you’ve begun the Frogs mission, it’s best not to trigger the Mice quest in the village of Tachov. Doing so may cause you to fail Frogs. Additionally, avoid getting caught while indulging in pranks in either village, as it might prevent you from completing other quests available in the area.
How to Start the Frogs Quest
To kick things off, head over to Olbram in Zhelejov, found west of Troskowitz. He typically waits near the village entrance, but if he’s not there, check inside; the village is small, so finding him won’t take long.
Once you speak with him, he’ll express his disdain for the nearby village, Tachov, and ask you to stir up some trouble there. Agree to his request, and your task will be to steal the village’s maypole.
How to Steal the Maypole
Taking the maypole from Tachov isn’t straightforward; being sneaky alone won’t suffice. Use your map to guide you. When you reach the village, find a girl named Manka, often seen outside the inn.
Speak to her, and she’ll mention her boyfriend, Henik, who is the maypole’s guard. You need to find a way to distract Henik. Let Manka know you’ll help her meet him later that night.
Next, go to the marked coordinates. Enter Henik’s home, ascend the stairs, and converse with him. Offer to take his watch tonight so he can go on a date with Manka. After that, inform Manka, and she’ll be delighted.
Now all that’s left is to wait until after 9 PM. Fast forward time, then talk to Henik, who will be by the maypole. Once he leaves to meet Manka, take the maypole.
The animation for stealing the maypole is quite lengthy, so ensure you do it when no one is around.
Once you manage to snag the maypole, return to Old Olbram, and he will reward you with 45 Groschen. However, the quest isn’t finished yet. Olbram will ask you to create even more chaos in the village. You can decline his proposal to wrap up the quest, or if you accept, the adventure continues.
Second Round of Mischief
If you accept Olbram’s offer, he’ll assign you three more fun tasks: mix a digestive potion into Alshik’s food, scare off the sheep, and mess up the laundry.
To add the potion to Alshik’s meal, head into the village through the main entrance. Look slightly to your left for what you need. Ensure it’s between 8 AM and 10 AM when you interact with the food, then exit the village and fast forward to 2 PM.
You are not required to soil the laundry or add the potion to Alshik’s food. These tasks are completely optional and won’t significantly impact the quest. If you simply chase the sheep into the forest, you can speak to Olbram, and he will be pleased with your progress.
To mess up the laundry, use one of the sheep to run into it. Chase the sheep to where the laundry is located (it will be shown on your map). Afterward, your task will be to drive the sheep away, which can be quite bothersome as herding six sheep at once can be frustrating.
Guide them one by one into the forest to the southwest. Once you’ve completed this, notify Olbram about your success. The quest concludes with him happily rewarding you with an additional 45 Groschen.
After finishing the Frogs quest, you’ll immediately have the chance to start a new quest titled “Battle of the Frogs and Mice.” However, hold off on this for now, as there’s another side quest, Mice, that becomes available if you were not caught causing mayhem in Tachov. Engaging in the battle without completing Mice will lock you out of that quest.
