As you make your way through the journey in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you’ll gain access to upgraded weapons and armor. Instead of just wearing basic hose, you can now equip proper leg armor, which provides much better protection during battles.
However, you can’t simply wear metal leg armor over your regular underwear in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. You first need to have padded leg and foot protection equipped before you can wear the metal armor. Unfortunately, what qualifies as padded foot protection might not be immediately obvious.
When you look into your inventory to wear plated leg armor, the game will block you from doing so. It will prompt you to first equip padded foot protection.
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, padded foot protection is worn beneath armor and must be equipped beforehand. One of the best options you have is Padded Chausses. Since they’re not standard items, you might not be aware of their purpose.
Although the game specifies that you need ‘padded foot protection’, the main focus should actually be on protecting your legs.
Now, you need to search for Padded Chausses to wear under your leg armor. First off, you can purchase them from Tailors in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Finding them in the Trosky region might be difficult, as you won’t be able to access plate leg armor until you reach the Kuttenberg area, but most Tailors in the second region will sell them. You can buy them from the Tailor located in the center of Kuttenberg City, as seen in the image above.
If you prefer, you can also loot padded foot protection from guards and soldiers donned in plate leg armor. If you defeat them in combat, their bodies may yield the Padded Chausses they were wearing. Just remember to be discreet if you decide to take items from the fallen.
While Padded Chausses typically cost around 150-170 Groschen, you might be able to get them for a cheaper price if you negotiate effectively.
