In Hyper Light Breaker, Medkits are essential. Early in your journey, healing items are hard to come by, and foes in the Overgrowth can take you down quickly. One or two hits might end your run abruptly.
If you plan to finish your cycle and face the Abyss King, healing is a must. However, healing doesn’t come easy at the start. This guide will help you navigate everything you need to know to create Medkits.

How to Obtain Medkits
First off, to survive in the Overgrowth, you’ll need a good supply of Medkits, as they heal for +75 HP.
While you explore, you may come across Medigems, small green plants that can restore +5 HP. These handy plants can be found throughout the Overgrowth and are crucial for crafting Medkits.
Depending on your gear, you might also receive boons that assist in healing.
While Medkits are the most effective healing method, you’ll first need to expand your Medkit storage capacity.
How to Expand Your Medkit Storage
At the beginning of your game, your Breaker has no Medkit storage available. To increase your storage, you must unlock this permanent upgrade through Pherus Bit, the mission captain at the Cursed Outpost. To expand your storage, simply trade in one Golden Ration to gain an extra slot.
You can earn Golden Rations by completing cycles and converting excess resources into them or by exploring Drop Down Labs in the Overgrowth.
How to Craft Medkits
Once your storage is expanded, there are several ways to earn and craft Medkits. The easiest method occurs automatically at the start of each run.
As you gather Medigems, your Breaker will convert them into Medkits when you launch the Telipad.

Your Breaker will only produce enough Medkits to fill your existing storage. No extras.
How to Earn Medkits
Another way to get Medkits is to use Medigems at Shrines in the Overgrowth. We’ve all faced situations during runs where we desperately need healing.
Fortunately, the Overgrowth has various shrines where you can exchange Medigems for Medkits.
At a Shrine, each Medkit costs five Medigems, so use this option wisely and only when necessary.
How to Purchase Medkits
Lastly, you can buy Medkits in the Overgrowth. There are usually Vendors scattered across the map, but their inventory can vary.
Sometimes, these Vendors offer Medkits for sale in exchange for Brightblood.
Brightblood is an easy-to-find resource in Hyper Light Breaker, typically dropped by defeated enemies.
