Pokémon GO Holiday Event Part 2: December 22-27, 2024

The second part of the Pokémon GO Holiday event is set to take place from December 22 to December 27, 2024. One of the most exciting highlights is the debut of Shiny Cetoddle, which many players are eager to capture. The event will also feature festive versions of Wooloo and Dubwool, with the latter evolving from the holiday-themed Wooloo. Throughout the event, players can enjoy double experience points (XP) for catching Pokémon and a 50% XP bonus for Raid Battles, making it an excellent opportunity to play.

Event Activities and Rewards

Participants can look forward to several engaging activities, including unique Field Research tasks and Collection Challenges. These will reward players with items such as Stardust, Poké Balls, and encounters with Pokémon. Raid battles will feature a variety of Pokémon, from one-star raids with Cetoddle to five-star raids with Giratina (Altered Forme). Additionally, Mega Raids will showcase Latias and Abomasnow. Don’t forget to use codes in Pokémon GO for some complimentary items during the event!

New Pokémon Debuts During the Event

The Holiday Part 2 event introduces several new Pokémon for players to catch. The star of the show is the Shiny Cetoddle, an Ice-type Pokémon that shines in a distinctive gray and orange color. There will be numerous chances to find Shiny Cetoddle, particularly in raids.

  • Shiny Cetoddle: The first time this shiny variant is available.
  • Wooloo in Holiday Outfit: A festive version of the popular sheep Pokémon.
  • Dubwool in Holiday Costume: The evolved form of holiday Wooloo.
  • Shiny Wooloo in Holiday Outfit: The shiny variant of the costumed Wooloo.

Besides Shiny Cetoddle, trainers can catch adorable Wooloo in holiday attire in the wild during the event. Evolving Wooloo into Dubwool will also yield an enticing holiday-themed design, requiring 50 Wooloo candies. Shiny versions of these festive Pokémon are available, adding an extra layer of excitement for those looking to complete their collections.

Increased Spawns & Encounters

Expect to see a greater frequency of certain Pokémon appearing in the wild. Common encounters will include Alolan Rattata, Galarian Zigzagoon, Murkrow, Blitzle, Vanillite, and Tynamo, giving players more chances to catch or complete research tasks. The elusive Pokémon Absol will also appear more frequently, making it a great time for trainers to participate in the event.

As part of the increased wild encounters, Incense will be more effective during the event. On even days, trainers can attract Snorlax, Blitzle, Yamask, Lampent, and Holiday Wooloo, while odd days will draw in Galarian Zigzagoon, Togetic, Foongus, Furfrou, and Cetoddle. You’ll have ample time to catch all the special Pokémon, but remember that each group will only persist for three days.

Raids to Watch Out For

The Holiday Part 2 event features a range of raid battles across various difficulty levels, catering to players of all skill levels.

  • One-star Raids: Easier challenges with chances to catch Alolan Vulpix, Galarian Darumaka, Litwick, and the newly available Shiny Cetoddle.
  • Three-star Raids: More challenging encounters featuring Pokémon like Snorlax, Banette, Zebstrika, and Toucannon. While shiny versions aren’t guaranteed, players typically have better chances of finding shiny Pokémon during events.
  • Mega Raids: These will shift throughout the event. Mega Latias will be available until December 26 at 10:00 AM local time, after which Mega Abomasnow will make its appearance. Five-star raids will highlight Giratina (Altered Forme) starting December 26 at 10:00 AM local time.

Trainers are encouraged to be prepared for higher-level raids, which are suitable for those with stronger Pokémon.

Event Rewards

The Holiday Part 2 event offers a variety of rewards for trainers. Special Field Research tasks will unlock holiday-themed Pokémon, and for $5 (or the local equivalent), trainers can gain access to exclusive Timed Research, which rewards participants with a Glacial Lure Module, two Incense, and a Wooloo Jacket for their avatar.

All private tasks must be completed by 8:00 PM local time on December 27, 2024, or these rewards will be forfeited. Furthermore, catching Pokémon during the event yields double XP and 50% more XP for Raid Battles.

Conclusion

The Pokémon GO Holiday Part 2 event has something for everyone, from long-awaited Pokémon debuts and various activities to valuable rewards and increased chances of finding rare Pokémon. Prepare yourself and get ready to enjoy this festive celebration!
