It’s no surprise that players are drawn to Mirthwood for its engaging farming features. Each game has its own take on farming mechanics, and Mirthwood is no different, incorporating seasonal and day-night cycles that influence not just your crops, but other game elements as well.

In this game, you can own a variety of farm animals and mounts, each requiring daily care and attention. This guide will walk you through everything you need to kickstart your own thriving farm, including how to acquire seeds, animals, and necessary upgrades so you can begin making a profit.

How to Grow Crops

To plant your crops, you start by using a Hoe to create tilled soil. You have the choice between a locked grid system for organized placement or manually placing your soil however you wish, even shaping it into fun forms like hearts or circles.

Once you have seeds in your inventory, they’ll be available for quick selection using your scroll wheel (activated by pressing TAB). Just remember, crops need to be watered frequently—once a day might not cut it, as the soil will dry out again. However, don’t worry; your crops won’t die if you water them daily.

Where to Buy More Seeds

If you’re looking for seeds, head northeast of Brightoak to Northdell Farm. Near the windmill, a market stall offers a variety of seeds for every season, plus deeds for farm buildings and animals.

How to Acquire Farm Animals

You can get a range of farm animals at Northdell Farm, while horses can be found with various traders; these are merely for riding and don’t produce any resources. All other farm animals require daily feeding and can produce goods for your farm.

Farm animals eat Hay, which can be harvested by cutting tall grass with your scythe. For increased efficiency in gathering Hay, consider upgrading your scythe. Additionally, Northdell Farms sells Hay at their trade stall.

To keep animals that produce milk, you can purchase a Milk Pail for 125 coins at Northdell.

Northdell Animals Overview:

Animal Produce Cost
Horse None 5,000
Bull Beef 2,500
Guernsey Cow Milk, Beef 2,000
Holstein Cow Milk, Beef 2,000
Royal Goat Meat 2,000
Gloucestershire Pig Truffles, Meat 1,800
Landrace Pig Truffles, Meat 1,500
Toggenburg Goat Milk, Meat 1,500
Rooster Meat 1,200
Cochin Chicken Eggs, Meat 1,000
Leghorn Chicken Eggs, Meat 1,000

These animals need shelter, so investing in building recipes is essential. Starting a farm will require a significant investment since both animals and buildings are quite pricey.

Northdell Farm Building Recipes:

Stable Drawing 1,500
Coop Drawing 1,500
